Serious problem or not???

I'm living in Hanoi, Vietnam. I've bought an 116i F20 for 7 months.
- When I drive on highway, the consumption is right (about 6l/100km), nothing to complain.
- But in the city: during the first 3 months, the consumption was about 9l/100km. Since I'd moved to the new office (about 1km far from my home), I see the consumption is always about 12l/100km @. And since last week, I've recognized that when the speed is between 5 - 20 km/h, the consumption is very high at 17-20 l/100km.
I tried the Eco Pro mode, not too much speed up and when the countermeter reached 40 or 50 km/h, I set free the accelerator... The consumption is still 12l/100km
Is this consumption too much with a 1.6l enginee 136hp??? Or my car has something wrong???
Thanks for your replies!

This is correct, BMW have changed the way they show over all consumption when they sell cars. In real life you cannot achieve this consumption it is very misleading by BMW. The best you can do on average driving would be 7.5 with some freeway and city driving. 12lt would be correct for such a short drive. Just enjoy the car and turn off your fuel consumption.

ok thanks, because when I compare with the consumption's MB A class, the BMW one seem to be much more .
p/s: for a short drive the consumption is about 15-17l/100km , 12 l/100km is when I drive in city

15-17 would be from cold start and only for your first 1k then it would start to drop down to 7-9ks.

Those numbers dont make sense to me.

I average 7.0l/100km. Always drive in Comfort Mode and not grandma style. Its city driving mostly.

Manual transmision.

For short drive runs (1-2km) in the city with cold start + ac on its normal to see a consumption approx 13-14 lt/100km .
But this is not the appropriate method to check car's average mileage consumption .
You need to run properly the car to define the correct consumption .
Normal numbers for a normal cycle run are something between 7.5lt-9lt in the city depends always your driving way/method . If you are always pedal to the metal then these numbers are imagination !
