My F20 in for major job

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
As some of you may know, my car went in last month because of what turned out to be a leaf in the air con system, causing it to sound terrible.

They removed said leaf and all was well.

This morning the exact same sound came back and I took it straight in- I just got a call from the dealer telling me that they have to replace the blower unit, and that it wasn't a small job- it will be a full days work, and include coding at the end.

Not really happy- not sure why it needs a new blower this time.

I wouldn't say it is a major fault....slight over reaction. My car had the same fault and went into workshops 09:00 monday morning and was ready by 15:00 including the wait for part Aircon Blower unit.

Didn't say major fault- just major work, bmws actual words, not mine

They said 3days for delivery of the part, plus 1 day fitting, + re-coding

I would question 3 days for parts...most dealers have three - four deliveries per day now. Hope you get it sorted soon

Hi all, my dealer tells me that this was one of items (auto box etc) updated that caused the delay in the production of my car.

I hope he is right

One thing is for sure, I will inspect the cabin air intake when it arrives to make sure it won't let leaves in

hmm, hopefully they know what their doing but makes me wonder if they even checked that there is an air-filter in place for the coupe-air-intake?! If leaves enter the system it sounds like their ain't no filter in place?! The sound is very familiar for me, had the exact same noise in my e36 when leaves and stuff entering the air-went-system but that one didn't have no filter at all.
