M135 Brake Pad Replacement Options
Hey 1ers
I am at the point of replacing my pads on all four corners and am looking for alternatives to the ridiculously priced front and rear OEM's from my local. Googling the following part numbers - Front Pads PN - 34116859066 Rear Pads PN - 34216855474 Throws up a variety or American based sites stating "Brake Pads - Front / Rear - M-Sport - Genuine BMW" on a variety of other models such as the 2/ 3 and 4 series - the F20/21 is not available over there, thus is not listed. My question is, are you able to purchase these brake pads with the identical part numbers as a like for like replacement of the pads we have here and will they fit ? Cheers. |

If you want the absolute same BMW part number, I guess the best place to start would be a site such as RealOEM. The part numbers won't vary from the US to here.
They're a Brembo caliper, IIRC, and there are alternatives around. For example, Endless: Front EIP206 Rear EIP224 The Australian dealer is Centrax Auto - http://www.centraxauto.com.au/ePads.htm Pagid (which may be the same as the OEMs...just a hunch) Front -- Ref 4931 Rear -- Ref 4933 The Australian dealer is Barry Smith Motorsport...as to whether he has them in stock, who knows?? I'm pretty sure there's a replacement in the EBC range, too, but I've always found them too harsh on rotors. |

Brakes are part of our servicing so BMW just replaces when required at no cost to the owner and unlimited milage for 3 years. The only thing we pay for is tires if required unless a fault.
It comes with every BMW and it's not an option.

This varies between markets. In Norway we have 5 years service and warranty, but brakes are not included. There is an option to have brakes included as well.

Kiwi, what happens in your market isn't necessarily what happens in other markets. The OP sought advice, not an irrelevancy based on geographical location.

Guys
As we are using the M Sports Brakes (s2nha), would the following pads fit the M135i - Front - http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-19...ort-s2nha.aspx Rear - http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-62...ort-s2nha.aspx The M135I is not listed on this site as it is not available in north America but the pads should fit as I read it. Cheers. |

Hi, when I was in England we always used GSF car parts (German, Swedish, French).
I put in details for my 2015 M135i and it's coming back as 101 pounds for the rear set and 86 pounds for the front set. http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ I'd be careful about buying cheap or vaguely listed pads. They will work, but my previous experience with a Toyota Surf showed Toyota made a very slight modification to the brake setup and meant the brake pads and disks (and calipers) although nearly identical, the pad sat in a slightly different place by 3 or 4mm. This meant squeeking pads, poorer performance since some of the pad was not touching the disk and other strange things. |
