Just realized that the 1 series cars in hong kong only come with the standard instrument panel. So just asked dealer to help add the option for me.

But I still have a little confusion, is there any difference between "full black panel display" and "extended instrument panel"?

I think they are the same... Btw can it be retro-fit?

I think standard has an electronic display at the bottom between the dials, extended adds a display at the bottom of the rev counter and full black panel is one large electronic display that replicates the extended display.

Garage List
What are the codes for these panels? In the Norwegian configurator, there isn't an option to add any of them, but when I included pro navi, I also got 6WA. The name translated to English is something like "Instrument panel with extended content". I was hoping this was the full black display, but I guess maybe not...

Extended is the same as black panel. They have the same option code. I checked the code my dealer gave me against the one cited on the UK configurator.

It doesn't make sense to have the same code mean different things, right?

My BMWHK sales told me it costs HK$4200 (including tax) to add it as an option.

My dealer (in KSA) didn't charge me for it, does it come as a free option with the M135i?

Either way, I opted for the pro Nav package, so it should come with it, right?

From all your advices here and some web searching, I think it is safe to believe that 6WA=full black panel display=instrument panel w/ extended functionality.

Btw, this option seems to cost just GBP 125 (pre tax) in the UK, or comes free when you order Pro Nav. Dealer here told me it will set me back HKD 4 thousand something (did not give me the exact figure). But don't think I have a choice as it really makes a big difference. It would be a much nicer customer experience if we have a detail option list when ordering the car!

I've added a complete list of options for the F20 on another post. I've linked it below. It has all the code numbers and option names. This list is for the M135i, so what is standard will differ from other models.
