It's a common thing to chase. It takes discipline to wall when you are at your peak up. Most once you get there get greedy and go in the tank. Same goes for being down. Usually if you play long enough you can get it back but have to be willing to go deeper to get there.

Generally, I win just enough to keep my wife afloat. She and her sister are stupid-stuck on Paigow. I'll play for a few minutes with them, then go wander the slots. Come back having won some cash, she takes it to keep playing. I get another drink, go make some more money. Rinse and repeat.

Last night she asked me to get her a scratcher. Lucky 7s was in the #7 slot, so I got 1. She matched all 18 spots on the card, won $100. "Take it back and get me MORE" So I got 1 more, plus beer and wine coolers, then gave her $40. Now I don't have to go to the bank until Monday or Tuesday.

I dropped $3k at the tables in Vegas once. Never again. I only allot $500 for gambling whenever I go now. If I lose that I'm done for the trip.

One of my buddies dropped $30K once. He's come up a shit ton every now and then, but I'm betting he's in the hole overall.

Poker and Roulette are my favourites, though I don't play often and when I do, it's only with the amount of money that I would otherwise consider I'd spend on entertainment (including dinner) elsewhere. That way I don't care if I lose it.
