Since the 1m and M3 are pretty similar on the 1/4 mile I would to see it against the m135

I find the comparison entertaining and interesting, even though I don't really care much about drag racing performance. For me, the straights are just the bits that decide which line I use in the corners.

I love the 1M and would give a toe for one but if the M135 was available in the states I would most definitely buy one since I'm assuming it would be easier to acquire then a 1M. Either way I love them both.
BMW NA get your head out of your ass and bring the M135 to the states. I have no doubt in my mind that they would sell like crazy. |

The race was what it was.
I want to know why there's that silly popping sound in the exhaust of the white car. And can't they keep the motor running after installing that fancy exhaust?

Seriously? No one ever told you before that you shouldn't believe everything you see...especially on Hong Kong Top Gear?

How is this embarrassing? It's a drag race under 500 ft with two cars that were never intended as drag racers.

Technology has a way of deflating one's 'Ego'
As each generation of model progresses to the next level, these sorts of results will occur. Just look at supercars over the past twenty years. Some of the new small cars have quicker 0-100 times than the first 'supercars' The M1 will always be an ICON as it was the first real 'Pocket Rocket' that was within the reach of many. The M135i is the first hatch that has real 'Pocket Rocket' appeal and is within reach of many more BMW enthusiasts. Just enjoy what your ride has to offer. I am sure that the next M1 or M2 will be amazing |

BMW uses the "S" as the bigger engine like the 35 and 50 but really should come out with a tweener level and protect the M badge.

The auto gear boxes shift while still in boost. As for the manual, not so much.
Much easier to launch and will pull ahead of the 1M almost every time. The very reason BMW did not release the DCT 1M. To fast for the M3. |

A thrashing for the 1M. I am proud of my N54 and believe it is a better engine than the N55 but this result surely has to be to do with the DCT not dropping boost? Or the launch?
The M135i is a very impressive package in any case!! |
