Love the cruise control

Is there already a topic about the cruise control?

Easy to use, precise to adjust!

Agree. I've found myself using it a lot more than on previous cars

Never had cruise before, but rather enjoying the toggle switch on the steering wheel to adjust speed rather than braking.

Much easier to use than my e92 3 series... I often ended up flashing the lights at people due to the speed adjust stalk being next to the lights....

I´ve owned around 10 cars with cruise control and the F20 is the best ever!

Had cruise control on my previous 120i M Sport and think moving the controls to the steering wheel is a great improvement; much more convenient than on a stalk as before and like Koalway Kid says it stops you flashing your lights instead by mistake!

Does the brake lights come on when you reduce speed setting? I was playing about with the speed settings today and the brake function really slows you up quickly? Two clicks down on the switch and it changes speed in multiples of 5 mph....

I think its supposed to turn on the brakelights, but I never actually "tested" it, due to the lack of "a clue how" . Need to get someone following me while using it..

I usually disable the cruise control going downhill, since I don't want to look like a rookie riding the brakes!

Good idea... I've also been trying to see if the front lights dim when indicating... So another job for someone to check when I'm following them

The coronarings and the brow do dim, I have noticed that in a reflection on my own car and - actually today - on a random F20 with xenon I met on the road!

The headlight itself was not on (daylight), but even if I don't see a reason why that would dim. Except for the stupid position of the indicator itself . But that was already stupid at the golf 4.

It's weird I've not seen this yet on any other f20's.... Or mine, but I did notice there's a brightness difference between daytime driving lights and side lights... & yes good point, the indicator position is terrible

my last car (ford fiesta) had cruise control but it didn't brake, only did engine braking... this is much better and i love the way the LED marker sweeps up when you turn it on (not just appearing)

There's another nice detail I especially like about the auto box.
If you're driving S instead of D, the gear stick is tilted to the left so that you can change gears up and down. Then, if you come to a stop and decide to press P, the stick moves itself back to its central position.

Just tried that....

I finally feel fulfilled.... And have the answers to my questions above.... I've seen the reflection of front light dimming when indicating (tick) and got Mrs Koalway Kid to follow me home tonight whist driving on cruise control and she said my brake lights came on when I slowed down (tick)

I just got the cruise control retrofitted, and it works great! I have one question though. How can you pause it (without actually turn it off), without actually pressing the break pedal?

On the E90, you could flick that lever to pause.

I use the bottom button for pause. That will make it go from green to orange. Then press resume to continue again.
