F20 M135i suspension question

May as well ask here, since nobody really helped me out on the e8x forum...

BMW M Adaptive Suspension (option, lowered 10mm)
vs
BMW M Performance chassis (option, lowered ???)
vs
M Sport suspension (standard, lowered 15mm)

which would offer the sportiest ride, i don't mind it been hard or harsh, anyone in the know how can share some light on this matter please?

Cheers

almost certainly the M Perf chassis... i don't know about the ride height, but i would be surprised if it's not the sportiest ride (and harshest!) and afaik the performance chassis is targeted at a 'track-style' set up...

all clues point to it being fucking horrible on the road

Indeed, I've been searching but also found very little information anywhere on the F20 M-Performance chassis option. I see the F30 specs have it lower by 10mm than the M-sport, but this in only 10mm lower than standard whereas the non-adaptive M135i has a 15mm drop already.

I got the impression that the Sport setting of the M-adaptive felt a tiny bit firmer and controlled than the standard, with the Comfort setting being noticably softer (but still nothing queasy like the F30's) - however my test drives were a month apart and over different roads...

Consensus on the web seems to indicate that there isn't a huge gap.

I'd assume the M-performance accessory kit is firmer and lower again - it does say in the F30 press release that it can't be retro-fitted to an M-adaptive car, so perhaps if you are thinking of that upgrade a stock damped car would be better? Sorry, probably not much help

my dealer told me the following...

M Performance Chassis lowers the car 20mm compared to normal car, 10mm in the case of the M135i as its got M Sport on it already.

CAN NOT be used in conjunction with the Adaptive M suspension

it has new springs, dampers, vales, pads (his words)

PRICE 5-6K installed!!!

The regular M Sport suspension is very comfortable, so I guess the performance suspension could be significantly harsher without being undriveable on public roads.

If you like it harsh, M-Sport will be too soft. It does perform surprisingly well for track driving, though. The chassis engineers have done an amazing job with that setup.

Thanks - looks like KWs or leave it stock for me then, or spend it on a Quaife.

M-adaptive is 10mm lower, the standard suspension is already 15mm. $1000 a mm
