Not an expert here but I doubt the light output of standard halogens has gotten worse over the course of history. Halogens provide adequate headlight lighting or they wouldn't be allowed on the road.

Guys, i can't discuss it but as always, not a revolution, it's a logical upgrade to the F25, including new tech from newer models. Some elements are lacking but i was pleasantly surprised.
The wait will soon be over so we will be able to discuss freely

Standard halogens are horrible...obviously they haven't gotten worse over time but they are light years behind HID technology.

Drive a car with Halogens and HIDs back to back and it's like watching TV in Standard Def vs. HD

Has anyone heard any details on the G01 30e? I wonder if the power train will be a carry over of the current 330e, or if it'll have more battery capacity and share the power train of the 2019 330e. Seems like BMW should be ready with more energy-dense batteries for these new generations. The 2017 i3 increased energy density over the 2016 by 50%, but I don't see these batteries in the current 2017 330e. I'd love it if these details are forthcoming on the 26th.

Can you talk about the size? Was it about the same as a current X3? Has it grown to X5 proportions? or is it some where in between?

Read somewhere that the F30 halogens was the worst light output tested in a pretty big test (can't find the link sorry) so no - might not be worse than cars from the 80's but like with every single other part of the car it should be WAY better than a car from the 80's - not the same and especially not the same when it's just a greedy option BMW love to charge a lot extra for
