I didn't see one of these so I though I would start one up. Post pics up if you get some crazy weather. We had some crazy weather yesterday so that is what sparked me to start this up.

Holy crap that flooded road. Worst I've ever seen was maybe 10 feet wide and a foot deep, nothing like what you had with what's basically a river there.

I drove the triangle (SA-HOU-DFW-SA) this past week and, somehow, managed to avoid all of this drama.

We have partly cloudy skies, so I can't see with my sunglasses on today. But there might be this funny thing happening tonight where water actually falls out of the sky. Oh, the humanity!!!

This was about 4-5 years ago, but it shows why "empty" sand washes are not the place to be when it starts raining in the desert:

The Agua Fria river here is actually flowing pretty good in this picture (about 2-2.5 ft deep at the deepest point), usually it is little more than a splash on the tires here.

And after a day's worth of heavy rains in the mountains feeding into the river, this is not it's highest point which was 27ft deep (as measured at the USGS gauge just a couple hundred yards down river), but it was around 15-20ft deep when this picture was taken:

I think it is more they need to stay NEAR me. I wasn't responsible for their care on Friday or Saturday, and wife's uncle came over Sunday and said the hen was dead.

We've been pretty lucky in South Florida for a while now after 3 hurricanes 10-11 years back. I hope it stays that way but the law of averages always comes around.

Got over 3" of rain today which puts us over 8" for the month. It is Texas so I bet we are in stage 3 water restrictions by September

Where I live in central Texas we have alot of flash floods. Not sure if it still is the case, but when I was in college here locally, the area was the #1 area for flash floods in US. Most people know the drill and know how to handle it.

Bonus picture of the last hail storm that hit south of me:
