Is it better than the last? I researched heavily and it seemed like not-even 335 performance for M3/4 prices.

Not to people that are in the know.. but to a Wagon/ Volvo fan it is all that and a bag... Sad to think its one of the hottest wagons sold in the U.S.

I think the only other performance wagon is the E63s AMG, but those are rare and special order.

Yes.

If we were getting the 335 or S4 wagons, I would have gotten one, no question. Even the S3 if that came over here.

Sorry Volvo but you got nothing compare to these:

But It's gonna be fun seeing what Volvo will do with the new V90, wishing for something like this:

Sadly, the only one of those vehicles we get stateside is the E63 and it's twice the price of the Polestar (though it's clearly a higher performance vehicle).

I looked at the Polestar but the lease on a T6 R-design with the Polestar tune is so insanely attractive that you'd almost be a fool to get opt for the higher model.

I love bad wagons, if I won a gazillion dollars I would not bother with silly Lambo's of Ferrari's or what not, I mean they're so useless on the road that i'd just buy an F3 car to hammer around a track. No, what i'd get is Audi's RS-6, 500+ HP wagon.

Beast.

Totally agree. There is something so sinister about a mean wagon. RS6 FTW. The C63 is, in my eyes, one of the best looking vehicles on the road today.

I really dig the Polestar, but as another poster said, it's M3 money for 335 performance. And auto only. Deal breakers if there ever were any.

The last of the manual wagons died with the CTS-V and that was RWD only. The S4 Avant was the last AWD sporty wagon with an available manual and that died with the B7. Sales of both were terrible.

They could at least use a proper dual clutch setup. From what I've read, the trans is a notable weak point in the driving experience.

Meh, car is underpowered, doesn't look great, shitty transmission, and that douche is doing the review.
Not interested.
If you're going to do a wagon, then put the effort into it. The RS4, S6/RS6 and the C63s is where it's at. The E63 AMG looks like a long banana, no thanks, either. Wagons have a small market so the ingredients have to be exactly right. Cadillac came damn close with the CTS-V wagon, If they made that with today's ATS-V performance, I'd be in.

I would think about a wagon if there was an M3, C63 or even an RS4 wagon.. utility and performance in spades.. but then again we American's love SUVs

Believe me, it's not what you're thinking. Ultimately it was one of my greater stupid car purchasing moves! Actually embarrassing. I just explained this situation the other day over on a Jag Forum, so I'm just copying my response here so as not to rewrite it again:

Just so everyone is clear, my (really my wife's car) 2015 Volvo V60 Polestar was the limited edition version (#62 out of a total of 80 brought over for the 2015.5 MY)--not just a standard V60 with the Polestar flash (although that package is very nice).

Back in the Fall of 2013, my wife's 2011 BMW X5 diesel had one more year remaining before the new car warranty expired. We were undecided whether to purchase a BMW extended warranty within in a year's time, or look into something different. My wife and I do not have kids, but we consider our German Shepherds our kids and unfortunately at that time we had just put one of our babies down, with our second one quickly declining as well. I knew the inevitable was not too far off, so we questioned whether we would require such a large SUV. I began to follow the much anticipated release of the V60/S60 Polestars. I love "true" European sport wagons! I would absolutely go bonkers if Audi would bring over their RS4/6 Avants--but no luck, so this Volvo was really as close as I was going to get. I would even "settled" for a BMW wagon if they brought over the turbo 6 instead of just the 4, as I'm a serious BMW Fanboy. Anyway, I was getting really excited following the Polestar and the reviews and started to seriously think about one.

Fast forward to March of 2014, and sadly we had to put our last Shepherd down. As a result of being without dogs, the need for an SUV was really unnecessary, so the Polestar was looking better. However, my wife was still torn about a new car vs. the extended warranty on the X5 since at this time we were preparing to do European Delivery on my 2015 M4 and she didn't want two car payments. Of note, my wife is not a car enthusiast like I am, so she wasn't even that excited to do another ED on another BMW! She was also very saddened by the loss of her babies and as much as I wanted to wait at least a year before getting another German Shepherd, she was having none of it, and off to the breeder we went. We were to pickup "Stanley" the day after our return from Europe.

Quid pro quo...you get a dog (honestly I really want too--shh) lets get that Polestar! She would have agreed to anything at that point. Found a local Volvo dealer who happened to be approved to sell the Polestar and placed a deposit. We actually borrowed a V60 R to see if there would be enough room. Sure there's plenty of room...Stanley fits fine. Yeah, but Stanley was only 10weeks at that point and quickly growing!!! I stuck my head in the sand and pretended the Polestar would be large enough...but Stanley kept growing....imagine that!

I was one of the first in the country to take delivery of the Polestar in early September 2014. It was great! Loved the performance, sound, look, handling with the Ohlins--it reminded me of my previous 335is, but in wagon form. But the elephant in the room, was in fact, "the room!" Pathetically (for us), after just about 1 month, I went back to my BMW dealer and did a courtesy trade on a custom ordered F15 (X5) with M Performance Exhaust (MPE) and M Performance Power Kit (MPPK). There were some other minor issues with the Polestar that we were not too excited about, but ultimately, it was the lack of room (for our dog mind you) that made us unload it after such a short romance. In the end, it was the right decision for us, and I was the focus of many laughs and jokes on the Volvo forums, but I would do it all over again for my boy Stanley!!!

Anyway, probably WAY more than you wanted to know, but I can admit when I make a mistake and they are just cars. Obviously I have a serious problem with BMW/European Car ADHD and I'm just anxiously hoping my perceived love affair with my first Jag is a good one! Fingers crossed...

And that's the problem. Because 'mericuhans buy SUV's and trucks, the market for awesome wagons is not there. Sadly the Canadian market is too small to support them.

Wake up people! Wagons handle like a car, and have MORE storage space. WIN WIN WIN! Sadly most people don't give a shit about handling.
