squeeking clutch pedal

Hi,

anyone got some advice for a squeeking clutch pedal?

The noise is there as the pedal is being raised slowly, which is very often in city driving.

It seems its the pedal brushing up against the small rubber flaps causing a very noticable squeek which is annoying the times I drive without any radio/music on.

Definitly not caused by something further in, seems to be very superficial.

Car is from February 2014 and I asked the dealer for some advice, they just ignored that and asked me to come in with the car giving me an appointment almost 2 weeks in the future...

Is it safe to use some lubricant on those rubber flaps? If so, what sort to make the fix long lasting?

I noticed the same thing on my 435i with the brake pedal, I'm not even sure why that rubber part is there, maybe you could try some kind of Teflon tape like they fit on the creaking doors seals?

Bit of teflon tape on the pedal armature or you could try trimming back the rubber flaps slightly with a sharp knife so they don't rub.

Thanks for the tips, will try them asap.

Such a silly issue to have and I´ve gone thru 5 new or 1 year old bmw cars in 8 years or so.

This just added to the very long list where I´ve noticed poor build quality issues in the new 1- and 3-series. Don´t know who bmw is trying to fool with reducing quality but maintaining premium prices...

It really annoys me to think that I have to buy an older BMW in order to get quality.

Safe to say even though I love(ed) bmw cars my next one wont be made by them.
