In terms of stock M135i's I see consistent 13 flats. 12.6 is not far off those A45 AMG with the Wilall Racing Phase 1 tunes (they get around 12.3 consistently, and stock A45's get around 12.8s)!!! Very impressed.

What was your terminal speed(s) with your run(s) - if you don't mind me asking?
yep i was quite happy (shocked actually) i did 4 runs 12.65, 13.7, 12.80, 12.60

the 13.7 was using launch control the others were stalling it up to around 1500rpms and then just lifting the brake and putting the accelerator down.

RT=.42
60'=1.983
330= 5.327
1/8=8.123
MPH=86.81
K/mh=139.7
1000= 10.538
1/4= 12.607
mph=110.08
K/mh= 177.16

My friend with a A45 is going to come out on the 17th so it should be a good match up. I think i can get my 60' time better would be good to get to 12.5
I was messing around with tyre pressures as well started at 40psi then to 30psi
would like to go to 25 and 20 and see what difference it makes.
gave a new WRX a run this morning from the lights i think he got the shock of his life(so did my wife).

0-60ft is actually pretty damn solid already!

Love your work, keep it up and see if you can crack the 12.5s!

Yep, fitted. Was a pain in the ass, as it wasn't the perfect/flush fit (I believe it was made for the pre-updated models so pre-Sept 2013 build?). But it all fits (just not neatly), doesn't throw any warning lights, looks amazing, and induction sounds bloody loud!!!

Could also cut a small piece of the filter box for a better fit, and maybe make up some simple L brackets to fit the box down - but too much effort for no tangible benefit.

Im not sure on these after market intakes performance wise !! Sure it sounds good and looks even better but i doubt it will net you any additional power , I believe the stock intake is good for 450+HPATW.

Completely agree with you. Most quote performance gains, but I don't expect any honestly... Unless you throw in a tune.

Just like the m performance exhaust, I sourced this for looks, sound, and cf goodness.

Next up BMW M performance locking diff.

I have combo of Jb4 map6, sport cat DP and MPE on the exhaust side with AFE scoop, MPPK airbox and drop-in airfilter on the intake side - sounds great and gives good response but more discrete ie no CF but probably more bang for $$$!!

Sorry was not able to come out to the drags last night my mate was sick.

Did you go out ?

I am running map 2 with JB4 no issues at all runs smooth, have popped in a bit of e85 20% and it runs fine as well. I have a quafe LSD and that's it. I have some club sport KW coil overs on order from prestige performance.

Holy smokes you are hooting if you can get better than 12.2. Am interested to have a chat about maps for this n55 m135i as I get very confused reading on
N 54.com.

Keen to catch up some time, don't know if brisbane m135 are interested in a meet.

Been a while!

Finally got the charge pipe, JB4 with FF and EWG wires, along with the eibach springs sitting around; and just needing a larger intercooler and dump pipe, before it all goes on.

But the M135i might go on the back burner for the moment, as I just picked up this!

Essentially it is an Aussie made large family barge to haul the kids etc (third one on the way!). For overseas members, this thing runs an ancient LS3 motor which is a dirty old pushrod 6.2L V8 engine with 340kws at the fly (or 455hp).

Picked up for a great price, so have change to slap a supercharger kit onto it next year. Then if I loose the plot, maybe a bigger cam and full exhaust system to wake it up further (not that it will really need it with a supercharger - but can't deny the awesome sound of a cammed V8 motor!).

Clubby is awesome love it. Sound on those is nice too. Such 2 different cars you have and both great - a hatch and big sedan. I wouldnt know which one to take when going to get some milk!

Cheers mate!

Once we found out we had a third child on the way (unplanned as per our 2nd!) we had no choice but to upsize one of the cars. I was planning on trading in the M135i but my wife told me to get stuffed, and traded in her Volvo V40 T5 R Design! BEST WIFE EVER.

Indeed, two very very different cars, but in terms of 0-100km and quarter mile times stock for stock, they are EXTREMELY similar!

Having the two cars highlights just how right BMW got the driveline for the M135i. That engine and the ZF 8 speed is a match made in heaven! It is buttery smooth, with just sheer abundance of torque from a smudge over idle! I feel the M135i is a car so smooth and refined (the drivetrain), it doesn't feel very quick, but you look at your speedo and you are definately moving!

On the other hand, the HSV really needs its muscle of that LS3 6.2L V8 to get it moving. Unfortunately I could not get a manual as the wife is not licenced to drive anything but autos; but the gearbox is very decent, but honestly would benefit with an extra gear or a closer ratio diff. But that motor makes one hell of a noise (especially with the standard bi-modal exhaust) and you do get a terrific shove in the back from acceleration! Massive staggered rims (255 fronts and 275 rears) and massive AP racing brakes makes it a sweet package too.

Good thing is these motors are just so old and used, that getting performance out of them is so easy and relatively cheap (especially in comparison to the M135i). A Harrop Supercharger kit with full drivetrain warranty to match the manufacturer warranty will give a good 480kw and nearly 900nm of torque at the flywheel with standard exhaust!

But either way, it is always a decision to decide on which keys to grab before I head out. But my wife adores the BMW and pinches the keys for that all the time!

Enjoy...but as you say, quite different. Drove one of those recently...and the word "agricultural' sprung to mind, after stepping out of the M135i. I felt its mass at every corner, and the traditional Holden driveline shunt, while dampened, is still there.

But the M135i is no place for a family with 3 kids, so it's a good choice in the circumstances.

Agreed, it is a very agricultural drivetrain in the HSV R8 - the auto is much smoother than the manual T6060 which I had in my old VE SSV, it had shocking driveline shunt.

But there is something about a dirty old big V8... that just does it for me! Must be the bogan in me!! But I didn't want to be stuck in a people mover or SUV.

I was also looking at the 300 SRT8, but that 5 speed box in that thing is just so outdated and based on the OOOOLLLDDD Merc E Class; it really needs the ZF 8 speed they use in the Grand Cherokee SRT8! It also wasn't as complete of a package as the HSV R8 - which had staggered rims, massive AP racing brakes, decent handling for a big sedan. And the discount was massive on the R8, it ended up being a fair big whack under the RRP of an SRT8, despite the HSV having a more expensive starting price and optioned up completely minus a sunroof. Literally can slap a Harrop supercharger kit with warranty and still would not match the discount.

The M135i is in no way meant to be a big comfy family hauler! But we are happy to have a garage of cars with great compromise.

How large is the price difference between the Holden and an M3? Is there a particular reason for buying it over M3?

The price difference between the HSV R8 and an M3 is just stupid. Firstly pricing here for euro cars is very high due to our relatively small (new) motor vehicle market. We also get hit with import tariff(s) and the luxury car tax (which is a good AUS$30k + on top on the m3 price).

Just to put into perspective, what I paid brand new for both a highly optioned (and with m performance bits) m135i and all optioned (minus sunroof) HSV R8 is STILL less than a brand new M3 with no options!

Oh and the HSV is a massive car, more in terms of sizing to a 5 series BMW!
