Bmw 116d Msport Glacier Silver
Greetings all,
I have finally taken the plunge to get me one of these awesome cars! Spec as followed: Driver comfort package Xenons Nav (Business) Glacier Silver Ordered near the end of March, Due in May or June. I have seen the hype about these new steering wheels, what its all about? Are they putting them on later models? Thanks Opinions welcome |

Yes, there is a different steering wheel on early and late M-Sport cars. Seems like most people prefer the looks of the new one (the one you will get), but the feel (particularly the buttons) of the old type.

Not sure, I believe my order went through early April. I thought i'd take the plunge. I had an 06 1 series 2ltr diesel. I enjoyed it very much. However decided to go for a smaller engine, as in reality I won't be maximising the HP.
Plus fuel is key What kinda deal did you get Tomlkj? Thanks |

I have heard the 116d both the 1.6 and 2.0l engines are excellent for economy. I test drove both and found there to be little difference between them. The most amazing thing is that at 70 mph the engine is at 1500rpm. A very refined engine.
This is a company car option so I picked the options from a list which effected how much I paid a month. I really wanted the M sport as I think they make the see look great but I opted for the efficient dynamics so I could get the options, I wonder if I will regret it?? What made u decide on the 1 series over say the a3 and the A class?? |

Yeah I thought that about the MB as well the 180cdi sounded terrible under acceleration and the wind noise was terrible. Looked good though. I have an A3 at the moment the 1.6tdi and I don't think the engine is as nice as the bmw. It is more comfortable but like u said, I can't beat rear wheel drive. I thi k the best I have got out of the Audi is top end 60's and that's sat behind a lorry at 60mph. I am hoping for better fuel economy from the 116d

SIlver looks awesome.
I was contemplating an Audi, friend of mine works there, he said if you want to do that, go get a Skoda! only difference is Skoda depreciate slightly more. Albeit, some Skodas look fantastic. I think you might get that steering wheel- with it being a sport. |

That's exactly how I feel about the vag as well it's just not a bmw. However it does have an excellent cabin and the ride is great. I do think the bmw us just better developed and engineered then the Audi, just imop.
I am not certain about the steering wheel as its not an m sport, it might just be unique to the m sport. Does anyone know for sure????? |

My 116 i M Sport is due mid June, however, the dealer rings me every Tuesday morning for a quick 5 minute update. Great service, especially for someone as impatient as myself!
