Should I buy 530XI OR 530I?

I'm debating between the xi and the i.

Currently I have a 330xi and was limited in the wheel options that I wanted to get.

For the 5 series I really want to buy the OEM 2008 550I Wheels and the OEM Body Kit. If I could put these wheels on the xi than I would go ahead and get an xi since it will have a better handling option than the "i".

Please advise.

Thanks!

Do you feel you need awd?

If the answer is yes then your decision is simple, but if the answer is no then you have to consider the economy differences, the higher emissions if that effects your tax bracket and the handling charactistics of both.

I personally don't know a lot about x-drive only that it's a heavy system and it is slower to react than the torsen system in use by Audi.

Hmmm. I beg to differ. The RWD will handle better in the sense of a true BMW suspension/weight, etc., dynamic.

Unless you mean "in the snow."

Hey, it's winter time. When summer comes around, who cares about x drive. In the meantime get a pair of cheaper wheels and mount some snows on it for those few months. Or get chains for that rare time. Or throw some sand bags in the trunk.

fwiw, I drove a much, much lighter 2002tii for years in heavy snow country. You just learn how to drive a RWD in snow
