I've just priced up the trims using realoem

call me a little cynical , but the hex trim is twice the price of brushed alu trim..

I have posted a new thread about the delay for autos.
In reference to other items, I have been informed that there were internal discussions about the audio system and the hex trim based on negitive feedback in Europe. It is possible that stamp changes to design or depth in trim may be the reason for the delay in that combo.

I then said I would like to have a 2013 production, rather than 2012 production, as we are so close to 2012 year end. The salesperson then started to come up with all sorts of excuses, saying that the quota is limited, that the delay may be shortened etc etc. Obviously he said all of this without even checking.

Then I told him that the Porsche salesperson told me that he is advising his clients for 2013 production on the new Boxster, so I don't see what it should be a problem with my M135i. And only then he agreed to go and check.

Not sure if he is lazy, untrustworthy, or both.

Hong Kong Salesman especially cars and property does nothing, they just wait for us to come. I give up on a word they say. They give excuse for themselves all the time. So good luck on your order. btw I order a grey one, what's yours?

Also ordered a M135i in HK, so what production month are the salesmen quoting people now? Assuming everybody was promised August, and everybody is getting the same standard (hex) trim?

Hey Aus, my dealer said something about this to me.

I ordered a M135i in Estoril Blue with the standard hex trim, and was told it would be for August production, until i was told yesterday that it has been delayed till October.

Sales person now saying that they may be able to squeeze it in for September production, but if I wait till 2013 production, then they may increase the price by up to 5%, depending on whether BMW will jack up their prices. I just don't trust the sales person when he told me he will squeeze it in for Sept production, so i may take my chances with a 2013 production.

This whole saga leaves a pretty bad taste.....

Unfortunately, guys, we are part of this problem.

We all liked the new 1er and placed orders, it appears that a lot of others (not on the forum) did as well recently.

It is a new model thing

It appears that the F20/F21 have become a must have hot item.

Stats have sales of GTi and A3 down and Er1 up.

The bright side here is that BMW cannot increase current production so it keeps ours (when we do get them) a bit exclusive on the road.

Be patient, I think it will be worth it

I received an update from my dealer. My order was ready to go in production, but it was postponed because of a M Sport kit availability problem. I'm not sure which parts exactly cause the delay.

So now my order doesn't have a delivery date, but BMW promised to deliver it somewhere in September. My original delivery date was August 14 (next week).

Fingers crossed.

Hello all,

I placed my order for an Estoril blue 120d M Sport in early July and was told delivery would be expected early September.

Having seen this thread I got in touch with my dealer to see if everything was still on track. He called later on to explain that he has had to change the estoril blue trim finishers and hexagon trim to gloss black and stainless effect due to high demand of the blue and hexagon.

Not a problem for me as long as my expected delivery is not going to be affected.

So again this is another vote for the delay being to do with the interior trims.

If BMW can guarantee a September delivery, I'm going to stick with the Hexagon/Blue trim.

Btw, I placed my order on June 8th.

My 125 M sport was to be delivered to my dealer in mid September, but due to production delays and changed shipping schedules it is now scheduled to arrive in Australia in early October. Unhappy about the delay, however the dealer has me a little excited as the paperwork says it has been built and will be on it's long journey soon.

Congratulations on that! Mine hasn't even been build yet. Fortunately for me, the journey to Belgium is a lot shorter than Down Under

Was this dealer someone called Scott26?
We're being drip fed rubbish by him here as well.

Two major issue for us (three if you include shipping to Aus)
1 It is a brand new model, so you have to expect some glitches to occur in the initial stages (we are seeing this now).
That is why I did not pre-order mine.
I waited for the RHD production to run for 4 months so as not to have as many teething issues.

2 The M Sport and sport auto box options caught BMW by suprise, it was far more popular than they allowed for and evident by the delays in delivery dates.

Look on the bright side, a freind has just ordered his Aston Martin and his delivery date is earliest Sept 2013. A Mogan at present is over two years. Even the Renaultsport Clio is up to 6 months

If anyone wants the car off the showroom floor it can happen very quickly. There are 5* 116i and 2* 118i M Sport available today at my dealer. Unfortunately the only 125I M Sport that was available here in Brisvegas was bought 10mins after it was put on the dealers floor.

And we all want extras. BMW has too many choices and this also slows down your cars production as they have to do individual fitments.

Little update.

The delays are still a fact. Current delivery date for my car is 22 October. I placed the order June 8th.

But, there's still a small chance I'll have it sooner. Somewhere this week BMW *might* add an extra batch of F20 M Sports to their production. My dealership put my car quite high on the list of cars being manufactured during that extra batch.

My 125i M Sport is on it's world tour. It is on a car carrier that has travelled from Germany to the UK and Ireland, then onto New York (fotunately it was a different route to the Titanic) then Galveston, Texas before passing through the Panama canal and into the Pacific Ocean.
Today, I am informed that the ship has left Texas after picking up it's consignment of RHD X5, X3 and X1 for OZ and is now headed down the canal.
Estimated date of arrival in Brisbane is the end of Sept.
Just as well this mileage does not go on the odometer.

One of the lucky few then. We just placed our order so if I follow you time schedule, ours won't arrive until December..

Anyone had any luck squeezing a loan car out of the dealer due to delays??

My last update a coupe of weeks ago from my sales guy was delivery to them on 10th September which is pretty much as advised when ordering the car. If this date was to slip by 2-3 months then I would expect a loan car. However I'm not holding my breath as I guess this is at the discretion of the dealership.

I have been offered a loan car if the new one does not arrive on the date scheduled.
It looks like it will arrive on time on the revised delivery date.
