Need advice and answers on upgrading my basic f20
Hey all, I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to cars, never mind BMW. I have a standard f20 with the m1 alloys and I'm. Wanting to upgrade it both cosmetically and technically. If you can imagine, the BMW I have is the most basic model (I know, such a cheap ass) but now I'm wanting to pump some more money into it. I've has reversing senses and tints just to make the car feel a bit better but I'm wanting to go further. I've been reading about diffusers like the ones on the m1 and I'm just wondering if I can fit one on mine? Obviously the body kit wouldn't look right, but as far as the back end, is that viable? Also, exhausts? Any recommendations? I've been looking into this for along time now and still can't find any helpful answers but, is there a way to upgrade my idrive to the one with a satnav and Bluetooth?
Please someone help!!! Ellis. |

Would be the best if you could upload a couple of pictures from your F20 so that we can get an impression on how it looks and what the options already are.

You can retrofit the M Sport exterior, but it costs a lot of money and time to do that.
I have no clue regarding the exhaust on this diesel model. It would be the best, cheapest and easiest if you sell your 116d and buy a used 120d with M Sport package. That is just my opinion...

You should reconsider. Mostly because things like the M pack is not just about aesthetics. It depends on the route your planning to go. And do the math, since you can drop alot of money in your car, when for less money you could get a car with the same or better spec.
Plus, you're investing money in a car that will always depreciate, and if you sell it one day, most of the money you put into it won't be in consideration in the sales price. Nonetheless, I also have the mod bug, so it's hard not to let your self go and spend a ton of "unnecessary" money! |

I would suggest going to an known BMW engine tuner and discuss what it is you really want out of 116d. If the cost is too high or it will not provide you with the solution you want then do as eau_rouge suggests. 120d M Sport will give you more performance and the looks.
A second hand 125d M Sport or 125i M sport will give you what you really want. or a M135i will give you a bigger smile |
