LOL. Same here! Why would you not want good sound to go with your TV? It's beyond me. Thankfully the OEM sound on these new ultra slim LED TVs is so dismal that you pretty much are forced into a sound bar. My wife said "no" to the soundbar when I picked up our current TV. We had it for maybe 12 hours before she gave in ans was all "OK, get the soundbar. I cant hear this stupid thing."

I'll give it a chance, just thinking it will be tough to make it nearly as good as the original.

the reason why most reboots/revivals suck for the fans of the original is that the showrunners all try to "update" it in some way to appeal to a new/younger audience. which may work, but you usually end up disappointing and alienating the original fans.

a select few were able to do both, though. Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars: Clone Wars come to mind. but most fail, at least in my viewing experience.

my niece convinced me to watch Riverdale a couple of months ago, which is based on the Archie comics characters. it was quite horrifying...instead of the happy-go-lucky gang, the plotlines centered around murder, embezzlement, cheating, and gang warfare. WTF?? Jughead was a murder suspect, FFS!!

I'll pass. As a kid I watched it if it was on and my sister was wielding the remote. It was mindless TV as most is/was. Something to pass the time and melt the brain. Come to think of it, I felt this way about most shows when I was a kid. To be fair, I had a pretty messed up child hood and did not enjoy most mainstream things. I watched a lot of horror movies during the time most were watching The Facts of Life, Punky Brewster, Alf, etc. Come to think of it, I might have been emo before emo was a thing.....wait, does this make me an early hipster-emo....shit.
