I would go back to my 2011.5 e90 m3. I would feel it at the pump more so than some other options but the v8,the aesthetics, and the functionality of a sedan sell it for me.

Don't mean to steer this thread off topic, but I'm curious what prompted the switch from your E90 M3 to E90 335i? I mean, we often see 335i owners "upgrading" to M3s but seldom the other way around.

I'd have to say my current 2014 328d. I'm 57, you never know when it will be your last car. I had a friend recently almost die with a MRSA infection. He's home now but still very weak. I'm sure he'd say he's glad to be driving anything. Coincidently he drives a 335i.

So hard to choose, they have too many amazing cars!! Of all their production cars, probably an E63 M6, just for the V10. Of all their concept/one offs, either the M8 prototype they made or the E34 M5 Cabro

If I had to work on it myself, then I'd get an e36 325i or e39 540 (my favorite 5-er) as a daily driver. Any e36 will go on forever and can be completely worked on in an average garage.

If I had to choose a car that will be maintained by mechanics and cost was not an option, then it would be a e46 CSL M3 or a B7 Alpine.

E90/92 M3 was a dud in my book. Sorry.

That's a very fair question. I had put a security deposit down for 2014 911 4S allocation but for various reasons decided to not move forward with it. That being said I have bought a 2013 Boxster S (which will be here next week). So, my roomy everyday DD will be the 335i M-Sport and my less functional but fully useable DD/weekend car will be the Boxster S. I may go back to a e90 M3, as it truly is my favorite m3 to date, but for now the 335i fits my bill for a sedan. I will update my signature to reflect the Boxster S once it arrives!

Makes sense. You'll love the Boxster. I have the pleasure of taking the one sitting at my parent's house around (albeit non-S) every now and then and it is a thrilling experience. The Porsche Flat-6 sound is intoxicating & i'm sure the S will be even more thrilling to drive. A completely different concept than our M3s. Congrats!

Thanks! Very excited. I was really set on a 911 4s but at this point in my life I think the Boxster S and 335i combo will be great.

+1 not only because I have one, but it really is a great car to drive. Well balanced and sounds great; nimble and fairly light. Also looks

Other than that a CSL with a manual trans swap lol.

What a weird coincidence. I drive a modded E92 M3, and one day I decided to go to a Porsche dealership to try out some cars because at that point, the newest one I've driven was a 993TT.

First up was a base Boxster with MT. I loved it. Then I jumped into a fully loaded C4S with PDK. Yes it was quick and sounded insane BUT:
1) I didn't think the fun vs cost ratio was there. It was literally twice as expensive as the Boxster! I couldn't justify that.
2) Got back into my used M3 that cost even less than a demo Boxster and thought this is a hell of a car for the money!

I would want the loaner car that the dealer supplies me when mine is in the shop. Never have to deal with another Misfire ever again because it would be their loaner car to fix

I find it interesting that out of 3 pages only one or two people chose F-Gen cars...

Not really.

I think people yearn for classics, the classic BMW experience. What is there to yearn for when something is recent, plentiful/readily available?

I'd sell my 911 Turbo S in a heartbeat to keep my 2013 e92 M3 (with the mods I have on it) if I could only have one car.

S65 of S85 motors are masterpieces and BMW has blown it with new turbo motors.

Everyone that gets back to back rides in my e92 M3 and Turbo S want the M3 hands down. It's perfect.
