No war. If you enjoy the DCT, more power to you, buddy.

BMW going all DCT and AWD kills what makes it unique. It will lose brand. Will it sell more? Maybe. But a different market as many of us will look much more closely at RS and AMG as there will be nothing left to distinguish the M.

End of the world? No. Not at all. Sad? Sure. A little.

How to maintain RWD feel in AWD

An increased need for traction: power split of 35%/65% towards the rear. Under max accel, all the power goes to the rear.

My 2003 325xi was already set up that way and as far as I know, all the xDrive vehicles are that way.

With my 325xi (manual by the way :-) feels very RWD and if in an emergency avoidance situation, I can turn the wheel and stomp on the gas to pull forward.

It is heavier and does eat front brakes and calipers.

I am calling on BMW M to offer "M xDrive" on ALL future M models. And so we can drive the dam things all year-round here in New York.

M xDrive, meaning with a rear biased AWD feel.

And for the guys that live in sunny Florida you can have your two wheel RWD as an option. And why can't a button just simply disengage the front wheels if you pefer.

We want BMW M to make the M4/M3 with rear biased "M xDrive", and to offer a true X4M!

It is time for the BMW M Division to meet the BMW i Division I think. Hey what up guys, lets have a beer and try something cool... Lets be open minded here, great things can come of this meeting of the minds.

rc82 workchop | BMW M4 CSL Vision Concept

This is a freaking awesome Concept / Rendering of a BMW M4 CSL!

The BMW M4 meets the i8 design language, totally wicked! This should be the next version of the M4, BMW M make this!!!

I will take one in Frozen Black and with "M xDrive"!
