Statefarm $560 for 6 months 250/500/250 and 500 deductible.

I also have two other cars, house, and life insurance with them so there is some kind of discount built into that. 28, clean record, 0 claims, and high credit score.

I got to thinking about the number I posted as being too high, wife pays it so I don't pay too much attention... Anyway, went and looked. Like this number better

They would only offer me refurbished parts and or the value of those parts which was WAY lower then OEM parts. for someone who would have to pay full cost for OEM parts it would have been a crapload of money.

Im with and have been with since that day with Farmers, also have it noted only replace with OEM brand new parts.
You just have to work with a trusted body shop which has the same standards as you and is willing to go to bat to fight for OEM parts. The body shop I use has used nothing but OEM parts for me except where it made sense not to fight the insurance company. Wife's car was in a deer strike situation where her front end was affected. My body shop was able to get all OEM parts except for the condenser coil for the A/C which I'm ok with. Her car was also rear ended in a highway chain reaction which again wasn't her fault. Liberty Mutual was the insurance company of the at fault party. My body shop fought and got approval for all OEM parts to include replacing the entire rear hatch on her RDX because the body lines would not line up.

I think there are so many personal and location variables that you are wasting time comparing these quotes from so many (w/ so much unknown). You need to shop around with your demographics/locality. It also often helps to bundle policies, so your other insurance becomes a factor.

And FWIW, 100/300/100 is nowhere near the likely cost for accidents where an ambulance is called - I use an umbrella policy since it covers so much other stuff around the house/yard, and would recc that to anybody on here.

I've been with USAA since 1994 and love them. They are not always the cheapest but I've "needed" them a few times in the past and man did they come through for me.

I'm in San Francisco near or where the OP is at.

Two cars, 2008 BMW M3 and a 2014 Audi A4 - single male driver.

$700 for 6 months with Wawanesa. No accidents or tickets. It was a little cheaper without the Audi when I just had the M3.

I'm planning on it! Besides, my wife and I are now at the age (mid 40s) and have the history with them to where it's hard to believe we could find better rates elsewhere. We are paying about $150/month for my M2 and her Nissan Leaf. We also have our homeowners, her life insurance, and a valuable property policy through them.

Anyone here with Amica? Seems like a good company based on some members’ recommendations in the past.

I had Amica for a number of years, and they were really great. Not the cheapest, but great service if you need them

So top 3:

Amica - $1,700/year for $250/500/100 coverage. $1k deductible. Glass coverage adds anothee $100 per year.

Progressive $1,540/year for $250/500/100 coverage. Includes GAP insurance and roadside assistance.

Geico - $1,800/year for $300/500/100 coverage.

Don’t have experience with either Geico or Progressive but if they have good customer service, I could go with them. Otherwise, don’t mind paying a bit more and go with Amica for good CS.

All the other guys (State Farm, Farmers, Liberty Mutual, etc.) charge $1,400-1,600 for 6 months (or almost $3k a year!!). Damnnn. Lol

Its up to the insurance company since they are paying it. Good body shop works great in the scheme of things of course but at the end of the day unless you have something in writing in your binder most of the time the insurance company will offer you their parts from their trusted outlets or if you decide to go another shop or want different parts and there is a gap in cost they will give you the value what they think and then you will be on your own to make up the rest.

Awesome you were able to squeak out the OEM brand new parts on your RDX consider that a big win,

Yes, having it in writing is the absolute if the insurance company even offers an upgraded rider to pay for OEM parts.

But my body shop knows how to work with the insurance companies. On my 135i, I had also had the misfortune of having a deer strike. $6500 in damage. My body shop was also able to get all OEM parts except for the condenser coil which was done aftermarket. My insurance is State Farm and for both my wife and my situation my body shop was able to get OEM parts authorized. State Farm did want to see used or aftermarket. My body shop was able to work within State Farm's system to get the OEM parts approved.

With Liberty Mutual, they were not going to pay for OEM parts. I talked to the claims adjuster making the case that the RDX was pristine before their insured caused the damage. Again my body shop was able to get OEM parts out of them. And in this situation, it doesn't matter what you have in your insurance binder since it was another insurance company/policy at play here.

So as much as getting a upgraded binder to pay for OEM parts will guarantee OEM parts if you go through your insurance company, it doesn't cover you when another insurance company is paying. Again, this is where a good body shop will cover that.

How are you replacing so many windshields per year? Lol
After reading your post I’m wondering if I should add glass coverage to the policy. This is for a Porsche so replacement windows might be expensive. 😬

Some of the worst roads in the country plus lots of driving. I'm on number 4 in the i8. I'd add it if I were you!

How do you like them? Thinking I will go with them over Progressive and Geico. At $1800 annually including glass replacements, they're on par with Geico and just a bit more than Progressive.
