Sport package or not?? Opinions please

Hi,

In 2006, a 323i with optional sport package was available here in Canada with 175hp. This included sport seats, suspension, and steering wheel (maybe more, but I'm not sure).

If you could choose between a 323i with sport package (175hp) or a 325i without the sport package (215hp) for the same price, which would you choose?

Is the sport package worth the tradeoff in horsepower?

Get the 325. The sports package is good and worth it but if it is a choice between that and power, go for power. You can always buy aftermarket suspension, wheels and steering wheel (& seats if you are really into it) but there is no way to add 40hp to a 323. A completely different drive.

Get a 2007 323i 200HP... they are very cheap now. Driving experience is not much different from a 325i or even a 328i.

Then lower it and get the wheels you want. I suggest 17"... I have 18" and although they look kinda spectacular, I have mixed feelings about the experience. You can get style 161 replica on Ebay for cheap. I also suggest wheel spacers in the rear.

You won't have the sport seats but the base ones are very good compared to the base ones in the E46.

Final and essential note for this car (unless you get a 330i), an aftermarket exhaust (I bought the BMW Performance Exhaust).

Nothing is worth the tradeoff for horsepower. The e90 is too heavy for 175hp. Get the 215hp version or you will regret forever. You can upgrade everyting on this car (when you will have the money) besides the engine...so...no brainer

I would go for the 325i.

Neither.
Find a 325 with the sports package.
You'll be much happier.
