These modes still work and have same effect on throttle response etc as the standard car.

But is the power increased in all modes?

Talking about numbers, on one of the most reliable dyno around these were the results:

118i:
Claimed 170 hp / 250 nm
Measured 183 hp (don't remember the torque figure, something around 280)

125i:
Claimed 218 nm / 310 nm
Measured 231 hp / 325 nm

Looks like BMW is generous these days...

The 116i if I'm not mistaken has the exact same engine as the 118i (turbo, intercoler etc) so it's not hard to imagine it would get to 200 hp just with a tune and maybe a downpipe,

The same as the 116i here in the UK - £1966.39 inc VAT. You'd have to check with the dealer in your country for local prices.

This depends entirely on how you drive it. If you drive it exactly as you did before tuning you can expect similar fuel consumption, or even a small improvement (due to not having to quite as heavy with the throttle). If you use the increased power to its full extent and often though, expect a commensurate increase in fuel consumption.

So, this "delay" in 0-60 mph time has to do with the tuned engine mapping? No gear ratios involved? I was hoping that with a Steptronic A/T, much better results could be achieved (under 8") if M/S manual shift mode was used.

It's down to the power delivery of the tuned engine. It's not a "delay" though. The AC Schnitzer tuned 116i is still quicker 0-60mph than the standard car.

Of course, it's better than the standard car, but it's still a delay if we compare it with horsepower, no?

Have you tested it with Steptronic A/T? Same results (8,1"), better or worse?

That's down to your expectations. We deal in reality, not fantasy...

And that's what all tuning firms should do (deal in reality)...

A few days ago, you mentioned that the tuned engine does not deliver its power in the same way as the non-tuned engine. Does this have to do with some kind of restrictions in terms of engine "fatigue" or turbo reliability (136 to 200 bhp is a big increase)?

No I think it's more to do with how much scope there is for tuning within the limits of the system that AC Schnitzer uses. You have to remember that AC Schnitzer achieves results by manipulating the standard car data. There may (for example) be plenty of scope for increased boost and/or high rpm power increases based on injector timing but less scope to increase torque due to limits on injector duration. We can only work within the limits of what BMW give us to play with.

Hey all ,
I know this thread is a bit old but could you please tell me if your product available in New Zealand ? If not , am I able to install ( and remove ) it without any issues or voiding the warranty ?

Do you provide any warranty on your product for 116i that it reaches the advertised improvement ?

Thanks a lot
Ben
