Exclamation Leather, bigger rims or navi prof

Hi guys,

So i went to the dealer with my configuration in my head, and the sales guy said i can get a 2000 euro discount. So that means i can put in an extra option but i can't decide between the following 3 really:

- leather dakota black instead of Sensatec (thats leatherette): +1300 euro
- navigation professional instead of business: +800 euro
- bigger rims: got 16 inch now +600 euro

I'm leaning towards the leather cause i think you will notice this everytime you get in the car. The bigger screen of the navi pro with 3d maps is nice and all but worth it? Same with the rims. Large rims are not mandatory for me but it's still nice.

Your opinions?

I would go for bigger rims, 16" is a bit small imo. I would skip the rest though. Think there are better extras, but maybe you got them already? like HK sound, xenon or something..

I don't get why many people spend money on navigation. 1500-2200 euros for something you can get for 100E that works just as good?! why? (I'm thinking of navigation aps for your phone)

This thread is just an example of why there is an options list.

Whats important for one person , isnt for another.

Personally i would go with navi pro

I already have the other options you mentioned. Those are indeed mandatory for me.

I chose the navi business too because i find the build in systems more pleasant. I got a really good Garmin in my tiny car now but my wife is gonna drive it from now on.

Still torn about the choices. My worst "nightmare" would be to get leather instead of leatherette then to see in the near future that leatherette is just as good...

Go leather, save your money and get larger after market wheels if you need nav go for the cheap nav sytem. What you should really get are xenon lights. I got all of the above and if I was to doit again I would probably ditch the nav, I expected much better looking maps and phone integrationfrom some thing that cost $2.5K

Xenons is a must have. Then rims follows, in my opinion.

Wheels, navi, leather...in this order. Wheels makes car looking good, that's a must. Navi is nice to play with on long trips, leather is also not bad.

So, ask dealer for more discount and pick all!

As already said: it's a personal choice but I would go for the following options:

1. Leather: most of the time you're in the car, so you will definitely enjoy it every time you step into it.

2. Navi Pro: same as for leather, you will use and see it every time you start the car. Next to that it's nice to have a screen with a size like the Pro. It will upgrade the interior look of your car for sure. In my opinion the Business looks a bit 'cheap', caused by the big plastic part besides the screen.

3. Bigger wheels will definitely look better but besides that what will be the benefit for you? Only when you walk to the car you will see them and I don't think it's worth the money in that case

as mentioned, in case you didn´t order, xenon lights give a different look to the F20 (good for night driving).

i would choose the leather, it will add value to the car and will increase the seats durability. Although some ppl don´t like the leather smell inside the car.

For 2nd maybe the Navi pro, if that´s really important.

For last the rims, you can put later an aftermarket rims.

I'd choose wheels, unless you really like the look of the 16" or don't care about the looks. Wheels make or break the look of a car, and I really think the F20 needs big wheels to look good.

Nav Pro looks cool and "unlocks" BMW Apps etc. but it's probably horribly outdated in a few years time.

I wouldn't pay extra for leather nor leatherette. In my opinion, cloth looks good in this car and is much more comfortable.

I hope you already ticked the box for sport seats?

I agree with rickk. I don't like runflat tires, and went with aftermarket rims and regular tires. If looks is important, 18" og 19" would be best, but I chose 17" because I prefer the handling and comfort with more compliant tire side walls. In the winter, I will use 16".

Can you do Leather and Navi? I think it's worth doing both if you can spare the extra 100 euro!

Agreed. My local dealerships keep putting base spec models on the floor with 16" wheels, it makes me cringe every time I drive past. It really does look waaaaay better with 17 or 18 inchers.

Leather would be almost impossible to do later. Navi will be costly.

But rims, the options are endless!

I'd go with leather and navi, buy new rims when extra cash comes along

Interesting point, but I think the nav is much harder to retrofit than leather.
In the netherlands (where labour is very expensive) there are a few companies who can retrofit leather for a a price competive to the factory option and they deliver a top job.
Dealers and importers oftn use them too..

Not sure which version you are going for 116i, 118i etc etc

Whichever one it is, I would go for the M Sport option as it has either Alcantara or dakota leather and seventeens as standard. Here in Aus it comes standard with leather sport int & 18 M wheels body kit auto lights and wipers etc. I would also stretch the budget to include Xennons
