Sports suspension too hard for me

Hey guys,

I have a F20 116i M Sport with the M Suspension.
Its too hard for me, with the roads here I feel every bump.

Can I simply swap the shocks to have the 'normal' suspension?

regards,
Nadeem

Our roads here in MRU are quite harsh. Are you still running on RFT?

Try to switch to non RFT tyres before considering to swap the shock absorbers.
Many have reported a much more comfy ride with normal tyres.

I agree! Unsprung weight is also very important. Go for light weight wheels and tyres. Not large blingbling wheels.

+1 - I did this with my e series touring - switched from RFT to non RFT but XL load rating tyres. It allowed me to play around with tyre pressures to tailor the car's ride etc to how I wanted it. XL tyres lessen tendency of tyre sidewalls "rolling over" when driven quickly.

Still running on runflats yes, Dunlop - these came with the car

@F20addict, what brand and size you have?

I am tempted to use non runflats but I have had 3 punctures over 2 years and the runflats really saved me.

Am still running on run flats as well. I am on Bridgestone Potenza S001 RFT size 215/45 R17. Will have to change tyres soon and considering to go non RFT , Prices here for RFT is just a complete rip off!!!
Had a friend enquire for RFT in the size mentioned above at Michelin, a whooping Rs 8000 per tyre. LOL

I'll just keep a mini compressor in the boot in case of punctures. I may move to Potenza RE003 soon as i want to put a set of 18" alloys on.

A compressor alone will not help much in case of a puncture. You will probably also need a jack, torque wrench and a worm kit, so you can take the wheel off and seal the hole.

Yeah that is in case the object causing the puncture is not ''in the tyre'' anymore. Till now 95% of the time i experienced a puncture, the nail/screws or whatever caused the puncture was still in the tyre blocking the hole a bit. We are on a small island here..we can get to a tyre repair shop fairly quick

Switching to Non-rft tyres will make a huge difference.
Have a car with the exact same specs. It did work fine for me.

I have 225/45/17 and 245/45/17 and Michelin does not carry these tyre sizes - so they told me.

Will switch to non RFT next and see.

Off topic: where can i find the exact part numbers for my brake pads?

I would guess the Tire Mobility Set was meant, of course. The bag looks differently "in real life" fitting the compartment next to the battery just fine, I presume (I do have a foot air pump there - running on runflats, having had them work ).

"Right Here, Right Now"

For me, life's too hard. It's all right with M-Sport suspension and runflats - on bumps I worry about the car only.
