Bmw connected app - update Q

Hi.
Im trying to figure out how the new Eco Pro Analyzer part of the update for Connected App is supposed to work.

Has anyone had success with it?

Is it suppose to sync the eco pro data automatically?

I have the navi pro that seems to be required. I can only read the information parts of the analyzer but no real data is available. Those buttons are grayed out in the app. But I can see the data thru iDrive.

I have tried the app as well; it seems it needs the new July onward navi pro software/hardware which pisses me off as my car was delivered 3 weeks ago and I wasn't aware they were updating it in July...

Thats really annoyingly stupid. I got my car 21st June fully loaded when it comes to "infotainment".

Its like a bad joke if what you're telling me is true.

Buy a brand new car with all tech-addons and BMW say "Sorry your 3 week old car is too old to work with this new feature". WTF...

That is my main reason for not equipping the car with any unneccesary infotainment options. The technology is evolving so fast that it will become obsolete while you own the car. In my opinion it is better to let external devices like you mobile phone take care of the infotainment, as it can be updated easily to the latest technology.

Remember that a car has quite a lot of lead time from being invented until it is in the hands of the customer. What was state of the art technology in the R&D-department in München, is almost old once it reaches the owners.

This does not affect mechanical stuff like suspension and loudspeakers, but mainly the software driven stuff.

Garage List
My car was built on the 2nd July (obviously haven't got it yet!) but I don't think they have updated the sat nav hardware in the 1 series - only the 5 series and above. I guess the 1 series will get the new hardware next year.

Now that I have my first BMW, I'll wait for all the tech specs until the i8 arrives
