My New Midnight Blue 116i

Hey Guys,

I've been waiting for 3 months for my car to arrive and it's here finally!

It's a F20 116i Automatic Urban Line. I ordered it exactly like the one in the brochures.

I' wanted to list the options I bought but in my country the names are pretty different than the ones you mention so I'm passing this part.

Here are some pics:

This one's right after I recieved my car from my dealer. It's a pretty dark color when there is no sunlight.

It's been around 500km's and all I can say is that it is just brilliant! Sheer driving pleasure, really.

The car has grown up compared to the old model. Ride quality, materials used, driving dynamics, performance and the gearbox has all improved significantly.

I thought that the eco-pro mode was just a marketing scam, but I've been using it and I'm impressed, it really helps me to reduce my consumption. It's really boring to drive in eco-pro though

The only thing that I'm not happy is the start-stop system. It makes me feel worried since it stops the car a lot, even for short stops. I'm turning it off all the time since I don't know if it's a healthy technology at all for the engine parts.

Oh and my iDrive system collapsed sometime today, after a few minutes it restarted itself and got back to normal. I hope it's not something that I'm going to experience frequently.

The car will disable the start-stop system itself if the conditions are not suited for it (too cold engine, too cold outside, A/C running hard, low battery and so forth). But during very short stops it makes no sense to stop the engine. I just keep the clutch pedal depressed if I know I will drive again soon.

I think it is the best combination for Urban Line!
Looks very harmonious!

I'm really more afraid of damaging the turbo. You know how they say that you need to allow the turbo to spin down before turning the engine off. When I drive fast and then stop on a redlight the engine stops instantaneously without letting the turbo to cool down.

I'm pretty sure that the BMW engineers have thought of this, but still the system is giving me goosebumps during my trip lol
