New user saying hello, and already asking 125i or 125d
So hello there, My name is Subnasty and I’m an F20 addict
I’ve been browsing this forum for quite some time now, and I must admit, I can’t get enough of it. Hopefully in a matter of few months I will become a proud owner of a F20 Therefore, here is my question, which engine would you guys recommend more 125i or 125d, and why? |

Welcome!
This is up to your own personal taste. - Diesel for low rev, high torque everyday motoring. Brute force! - Petrol for sporty driving. It all depends on your driving style. As for me, I recently ordered a 120d as my daily driver (to office, shopping etc.). Since I already had a car with the beautiful 6 cylinder N55 engine, I decided to have a diesel for everyday purposes. But honestly, you can't go wrong either way!

Well of course I see the difference between petrol and diesel because I owned both. But I never had any bmw engine, and I’m wondering which engine will generate more power while chip tuning. Also wondering if it will be worth getting a diesel since, the price for a diesel is getting crazy in my country.

hey Subnasty and Welcome. I test drove a 525d xDrive that has the same engine as the 125d. The engine is quiet and is keen on speed. Must say I was very surprised how fast the engine is in a heavy f11 xDrive, can imagine what it can in a 1-series. Hartge will certainly chip tuning 125d, and certainly with 275 hp at least. 125d sport auto is my tip.
