F20 bluetooth issues
Hi all,
My bluetooth used to work perfectly fine but now i'm having issues. When I go to add device, I get the notification on my phone to accept messages access etc, i press yes, then in the car you can see it's loading something, as the signal bar pops up, but it just hangs on "Checking passkey", i've deleted the device from my phone etc, tried various things such as pressing "No" when it asks for permission etc but it just hangs on that every time. Tried clearing bluetooth cache, fully wiping phone to no avail. Any ideas? |

Hi mate, when was the last time you updated the system software? When I first picked up my 2015 m135, Bluetooth to my phone worked fine. But after a few days my music was being played through the car but the car was accepting it as a phone call and it sounded crap. I updated the software and it has never happened again, no issues at all actually.
It's simple to do the update, you need a usb flash drive, your vehicle vin and a computer where you can access the internet and download the update file. Instructions can be found in your manual I believe. |

Hey, I updated both bluetooth and maps as soon as I got the car about 3 months ago so that's all up to date. It's so frustrating, do I take it into a garage?

Well, firstly, don't overlook what dishy suggests: it's easy (they say ), presumably free and might help.
I presume you've seen this (and the manual, too). As a (very?) last resort, you can attempt resetting the car's non-persisting memory (see the manual, "Car Battery | Power failure", page 263 in the local online version) by disconnecting the battery for a while (they suggest half an hour , I'd guess half a minute should do but I don't know much ). Don't close the boot in between (or you'll have trouble getting back into), make sure you reapply the clamp firmly (if it goes loose you'll have nasty random troubles) and, of course, have ignition off and don't short-circuit. I wouldn't expect this to help but sometimes it works wonders , they say. |
