Bmw F20 Crimson red thread (pics)
starting a thread with some pics of crimson-red bmw f20, with "real pics" that are probably not photoshopped (atleast not like the uber-manipulated official pics). Pics are mainly from dealers that I found on the web. These are some pics I found that i think somewhat reflects the actual color-tone of the crimson red and does the red color justice. The problem with red is that if you take a picture of the very same car with 10 different cameras you'll end up with 10 pics displaying different type/tone of red.
on a personal note; when I ordered my f20 I had the opportunity to see a crimsonred at a dealer with pretty much the exact same specs I was looking for. I fell for it instantly, it was just something about the red that really fits the f20. I had no doubt at first but as weeks passed after I had placed my order I started to doubt, having some sleepless nights and thinking I should change to alpine white or metallic black, i think the reason was that I started to pay attention to random red cars on the road and to be honest most of them were ugly ass hell (a +10 year old vw passat or whatever in faded red paint and greyish plastics aint pretty). Red is a tricky color, its either great looking or utterly ugly. anyways lets get on with some pics, sorry for bad quality on most of them. here F20 crimson together with black e87. please go ahead and post your pics if you have any good ones! final pic, modified kidney-frame and litte "bar" at fog-light, black instead of chrome/silver, beware I did it in paint real quick so its not pretty, just to get an idea : I hope bmw will release the all-black sports-grill/kidney for the f20, anyone know when that will happen? I think they released that for most models, they did for the e87. |

When you see the side profile it becomes clear how BMW obtain such a balanced wheigth distribution: A long hood covering an engine which is set almost rear of the front axle. This gives the F20 a very distinct profile. You are never in doubt about this being a sporty RWD car.
And it shows the sports gene of the marque.

Finally some nice sunny weather here, great opportunity for some well-needed washing and photographing in daylight! Thought I'd dig the old crimson-thread back up again to post a few pics of my own
perhaps it would be a good idea to convert the thread into "share your own f20 photos whatever colour" so we can have a nice collection of all the members cars. Quite a lot of the members have had delivery now, alot of good looking f20s in various colours out there now. The initial idea of the thread was to hunt crimson-pics since I was in the colour-decision-stage back then, and at the time it was hard to find real-world pics of the f20 crimson. Now that the purpose is fullfilled why not convert it into a members cars photo thread! |

Sweet - nice pics.
I've gone with the red this time around too - I think it's the first time I haven't ordered a car with metallic paint. Now I'm just waiting for it to stop raining, so I can give the girl a wash and let her shine! |

Depends on where you grew up, I reckon.
BTW, wolz, one thing I really notice when driving the new car is the curves on the bonnet, which your photos really highlight. |
