You only get the button if you have front and rear parking sensors.

If you have just the rears then no button.

In the Auto moving out of reverse stops the noise too.

Hi, as you also drive in Norway with temps abow and below zero. Are you happy with the rear wiper operation? On my car it never takes high on the glass, and the wiper arm feels very soft. Have you or anybody else seen this?

It seems to work fine so far, but I don't use the rear wiper very often. The shape of the car gathers dust like a magnet to the rear end of the car, making it very dirty very quickly. I don't like to wipe a dirty window, so I prefer to wash the rear window with plenty of water at gas stations now and then.

2. 125i engine and Sport Auto gearbox. This is best auto box on the market, super smooth in comfort. Go into Sport mode with the shift over in in Manual position and playing with the paddles 'awesome'. For those who are commenting on the turbo lag, it is not lag you are experiencing, it is the auto box starting in second gear when you are in Eco and Comfort. Try putting it in Sport and see if the lag is still there. Switch on the Sport/Sport + mode and you will see what I am talking about.

3. M-Brakes. REALLY good. great feel and progression.

4. HK sound system

Disliked
1. The stop Start function (now fixed- I had it changed to off or on at my command). Whatever it is set at when you turn the engine off is what it is set to when you start the engine next time- I leave it off

2. No automatic setting on the folding mirrors
Hey AusF20 how did you get the stop start to remember the last position. Stop start does my head in.

Hi, it's a service bulletin out on it. You have to contact your dealer and they can program your car.

At the request of an owner, it is possible to modify this default logic to "Last user mode."

With this logic, the current MSA's activated or deactivated setting is stored and used on the next trip.

You have to book your car in to have it reprogrammed. BMW will ask to keep it for half a day. It takes them all of 15 minutes to do it.
Once programmed, It will then operate in whatever mode you have it in when you turned off the engine. I leave mine in the 'off' mode, so when you start up the orange led above the button is always on.

As usual, BMW service will charge like a wounded bull to do it.

I am so happy I had it done.

I had a bit of a chuckle yesterday,
I was crossing a road at traffic lights when a new M5 pulled up at the lights and then shut down. I could see the expletives coming out of the drivers mouth as he pushed that button. restart
I motioned to him to wind down his window, I informed him that I had mine reprogrammed and the associated cost.
He said he did not care how much it cost, he would get it done as soon as possible.
He thanked me, then drove off (what a glorious exhaust sound).

What have BMW been thinking when they designe the filling of washer fluid on the F20?
It's almost impossible not to spill washer fluid when you try to fill it because og the design between the filter and the reservoir.

I didn't spill a drop last time I filled it. Don't quite see what you mean is a bad design here. It is just a matter og opening the cap and pour the washer fluid in.

I prefer to buy the washer fluid in floppy bags instead of cans. That makes it easier to avoid spillage.

I use the same bags, but I must hold a finger in the opening to limit the flow not to spill.

I squeeze the bag slightly behind the opening to limit the flow.

Should not be necessary to do this with a bag with an opening of just 10-11 mm. Not a big issue, but an annoyance every time I fill it during the winter.
