new navigation professional update

Just wondered if anyone has received their new F20 with the latest navigation pro software/hardware installed?

If you have the old system is it possible to update the software??

An update from CIC to CIC-high is not possible (without changing the hardware).

Every F20/F212 with Navigation Professional receives the CIC-high version from 01.03.2013 (production date) on.

What?
1. The video only shows software updates for the Bluetooth interface (e.g. to support new phones or more functionalities with existing phones)
2. The video shows the CIC iDrive the whole time.

You cannot update from CIC to CIC-high. Mainly since CIC-high uses completely new hardware with a faster CPU and dedicated nvidia GPU.

Is this 100% confirmed for all F20 models with prof nav in march production?

I have an order set for march 11 production week, and I'd be very disappointed if it comes out on April production.

Has anyone had this confirmed by a dealer?

oh my god, this was announced literally months ago, if not almost a year...

if you are on the bmw forum scene.. you have no excuses for not knowing this update was coming 1st march for the f20/f21 tbh

it might slip a week this way, a week that way i guess, but it IS confirmed.

Integrated navi systems in cars will always be obsolete rather quickly.

Garage List
It is supposedly much faster also. I had the option of putting my order on hold for a month so I would get the new navi, but I thought the three month wait was long enough. I'm not sure exactly what I'm missing out on, but I'm generally pretty happy with the whole iDrive-system. The maps aren't as updated as they could have been, but that might not be any different on the new navi.

Ugh, whenever I talk/write about my car, I just want to get up, leave work and go for a drive. Maybe I will...

Hello everybody,

My dealer told me that my F20 would be produced in March but yesterday he told me that the car had already been produced and was waiting to be transported. We had talked on the 20th of February and the car was on "112 code" and no option could be added/modified anymore.

I am afraid that mine won't come with the CIC-HIGH.

Can anyone having picked up the car recently tell us if it came with the updated system?

Cheers,

Alejandro

dealer rang and so picking up the beast tomorrow really took just 6x weeks from order.
If I check the VIN number it says production start 27/02.
Does that mean start of body assembly or start of car assembly eg. when the body is finished and goes to paint.

Anyway so be it if I miss out on the update, Im just going to be too busy driving it like I stole it to bother me.

Will check back soon with some photos, weathers cleared up in Bavaria so will be able to give it the beans on the autobahn.

Apparently mine goes into production the week after next, at least I'll probably be getting the newer Nav as some consolation for the delayed delivery time.

Does anyone know how you can tell if you have the new (post March 2013) nav or not? Is it supposed to come with the touch pad? Because mine doesn't. I am just curious more than anything else, doesn't really matter to me!

No it doesn't come with a touchpad, that's not scheduled anywhere soon for 1 series.
Check your Idrive graphics, as per this document:
