Nice. First generation E21 for me meant a lot growing up.

My first BMW was a 1600. It had a 4 speed manual transmission, no A/C, crank windows, manual seats, and so on. It was great.

I love this video! And I really laughed at what he told his mom about selling all her shoes for ONE good pair!

When the gas crisis hit in the late 60's, my dad brought home a Tan 1600. It was the first small European car he had purchased during my formative years. Wow was that a fun little eye opener for a kid that did not understand. That led me to a Siena Braun '74 2002 tii which solidified my relationship with the marque.

E36/E46 are timeless IMO. Such great cars.

The new generation do not even look in the same class anymore. It looks like an athlete at end of its era with more body size and weight. Bring me a M2 or a M2GC.

Makes me damn proud to own my F80. I enjoyed the hell outta my old 85' 535i too. I know an e28 isn't in the same class and wasn't as light and nimble as the smaller e21 and e30 during the same period but it got me hooked! Something about the 80's BMW charm.

I love that they drag out all the previous generations with every new model.

Didn't catch up on the first gen, owned 1985 E30 briefly.
My first BMW was really 2006 E90 325i.
Have a huge bucket list to collect 3 series of all generations : )

Fell in love with the brand while sitting in the back of the E21 when my Dad drove us to summer vacations...
Grew up with the E30s because my Dad bought 3 of them successively over the years, including one for me during my college years...
Of course when i got my first job, i bought myself a used E30 from an Englishman living in France...
Found a used E36 of my dreams a year after my relocation.
My sister came back to the BMW family when she bought a used E46 that i helped her maintained.

As each one of us started our young family, she traded hers for the E90, and i jumped to the F30....

I have been truly blessed to enjoy this whole 3 series family, and Thanks to my Dad for unknowingly instilled that to us...

Yep
Have delved deep into 3 series virtues.
All with MT:

Two e36s, both preowned; a 318is with M42, and 325ci vert with M50TU
Owned a new E85 M-R, which has e46 chassis bits.
Ordered an e46 330i zsp from Munich, in enthusiast config. In 2002.
Did the same on an e92m, ordered it with minimal features, 11 years later
The ordered cars are keepers !
Can't say I'm not loyal to the brand :-)
