I like it, especially the headlights. Much better than the bug eyes of the E82.

Hmmmm, body style looks good! But the angel eyes with squared top/bottom? Can we say "Audi tail-lights" anyone?? Not good.

The overall look of the headlights is to give the impression of being intricate , valuable and premium. The headlights actually give the impression of a camera lense.

The new BMW 1er Sporthatch signifies a move to expand the idea of premium in a compact car. The new BMW 1er Sporthatch will launch with a range of firsts for it's segment it will also offer luxury segment options to the customer.

The new 1er Sporthatch begins BMW's key assault on the important segments this decade. And will see a range of models combine with the standard 3/5dr Sporthatch and Coupe and Cabrio to expand the portfolio allowing BMW to increase it's profit margin with the 1er.

The combined platform matrix which spawns both 1er/3er is a cost effective solution that will allow BMW to increase it's profit margin across the two ranges. BMW can make profit off of the planned expansion for the BMW 1er and 3er portfolio. The principle of the technology , matrix sharing is that no two models will be alike, offering the customer a true BMW in each individual model.

Good to know. Now that is what I like to hear. More room for me to negotiate a good deal. I feel sorry for the sales men sometimes. Suckers.

BMW already know that most 1 series owners think the car is already FWD. The FWD 1 series won't be around for a few years after the new model is released.

Are you serious people? I find it very ugly. I hope it won't be so. The new 1 Series is to be my next car.

Thumbs up 2.0 l4 t 240kw

Hi everyone, this the first post of mine...

I'm an homologation expert and while I was in a test center in europe I saw another prototype of f20 1 series and I attached a photo of it.

I think it was a early prototype so you can t see much difference on design but it's engine was astonishing,,, 2.0lt turbo 240 kw !!!!

Have you ever heard anything about this kind????

You'll be likely waiting a long time, as I doubt there will be another 135 coupe after current 135 production finishes next year.

Whole car is wider and longer than a current 1er, will be almost same size as current 3er.

They better sell this to North America, via Canadian Dealers, or they are going to shot themselves in the the foot, sales wise.

The front headlights are a disaster, and thus the whole front end is a disaster. Headlight shape relates to nothing on the rest of the car. It looks like a fly's wing shape. Makes no design sense.
The eyes/headlights are the windows into the soul, as some have said.
So that 1's soul needs Godly intervention to save it.

It doesn't even look like a good "freshened" mid-run design let alone a cool NEW design.
The only thing I like is that they fixed the pot belly pig line of our current 1.

I personally don't really like the new headlights (I don't mean to offend anyone). The current 1er (E82) is a very artistic, emotional and creative car. It provokes a response. This one looks a bit dull and generic. It's like..."This looks nice but it's nothing special."

You know, people piss on Bangle, but I find he did a great job in individualizing each platform. The E82, E90/92, E60, E63/E64, and 7-series each looked unique. BMW is starting to head in Audi's direction...each "series" is just a shrunken or enlarged version of each other.
