STOLEN - New 118d Sport (Grey)

Hello,

New to this site but am using all means possible to communicate the theft of my car.

I am amazed to say but after just 2.5 weeks and 1,500 miles some scum bag broke in to my home and stolen my new F20 1 series. I live in the Handforth (Cheshire / Manchester) area and it was stolen in the early hours of Sunday morning 4th December.

The car is metallic grey, Sport with black / red cloth trim. Obviously not many on the road at the moment so probably stands out like a sore thumb.

If anyone notices one driving around the Manchester area please drop me a note or email me direct at - graemeyardley@hotmail.com

Awesome car by the way...hence why am even more determined not to let these scum get away with it.

Thanks for reading,
G

Gutted for you mate, i remember when i had my house broken into it was awful. They didnt get my car as i was in and i chased them off like a raving loon! I think the sight of me legging it down the stairs in my boxer shorts scared them off!

Really shook me up though, i couldnt sleep for weeks.

I hope you get your car back.

I've got an F20 on order, may find somewhere upstaris to lock my keys at night.

Good Luck!

I'm in the Lancashire area 15-20mls north of Manchester. Don't know if you have heard of Haslingden. I am EXTREMELY observant so I will keep a look out. Do you have any pictures of it you can send me? Sorry to hear about that - awful people! There is a red 118i (or d I forget) Sport Line knocking around this area and you're right, it stands out from the crowd!
Hope you find it and I will do everything in my power to help! I may be going into Manchester this Saturday too...

Theft Protection?

I am really disappointed it seemed so easy to steal - as in theft prevention technology in the car itself. It might just be a 1 but??? Will the thief not need to get a new FOB from BMW and at that point ownership needs to be proven? I am always thinking how pissed insurance companies must feel towards car manufacturers. Do you think it was towed?

Not the BMW's fault, the scum broke into his house and nabbed the keys to it. So it is the house's fault or the owners. Sadly, you can't live like Fort Knox so the fault probably only lies with the scum who broke in. The car has actually got a fairly decent security system. Imobilised, motion sensors and tilt sensors (similar to Apple's accelerometers) so it knows if it is being picked up or towed and will imobilise the engine so. The theives also need a little BMW knowledge as the start-up procedure is difficult to fathom by people who have never driven a BMW before. "Mere Mortals." Ugh, I hope you find it and find it in good shape!

Sorry to read about this, I do hope that your local law enforcement can recover your car and if not that your insurance will cover your loss.

Meanwhile Enjoy your Holiday ... all the best

Greetings from Canada
