Hazard lights come on too easily

Hi All, I have a small problem where the hazard lights come on if I brake from highway speed. Doesn't happen all the time, but the ABS isn't even close to kicking in and I even try rolling for 2-3m after braking at walking pace but when I finally stop the hazard lights come on. Gets quite annoying, can this be programmed out of the car? Happen to anyone else?

I know people will say it is a safety thing, but sometimes you think you will make a traffic light and then you realize you won't so you safely stop. Plus... why put decent brakes on a car if you never get to use them??

I have noticed that the hazards often come on when I brake as late as possible into the finish gate at autoX. :-)

I think this is a nice feature. In Germany people are very good at always using the hazards when slowing down on the Autobahns to avoid pileups, and this is a German car.

People driving behind me on track days tell me that the braking lights are flashing in the braking zones. I usually go all in when braking on tracks, enabling the ABS on all four wheels. The hazards stay off if you don't come to a complete stop, or close to it.

Three of us took M135i to the track and we all had flashing brake lights slowing from the 100mph straight to the tight hairpin.

None of us set off our hazard lights though; ice had it happen once on a public road. The brakes on the car still impress me hugely.

How can you tell when they come on?

You can't tell with the brake lights but the usual dash lights (indicator lights) flash if you set them off.
