Need help choosing between two used 328 Coupes
OK so I'm playing 2 dealerships off eachother.
After a couple rounds of haggling....I think I can probably get the 2007 car down another grand Car 1 2008 328C 4K miles Auto premium package navigation $33,100 4yr/50K service & warranty 3yrs left on service and warranty Car 2 2007 328C 10K miles Auto premium package Premium sound $1000 less than the Navigation $31,000 6yr/100K warranty 2 years 40K miles left on the free service, 4yrs left on the warranty in your estimation, all things being equal, in the used car market, is it worth it to pay up 3K to get a car one model year newer? or looking at it another way, is it worth it to save $3K and get a car one model year older? I just offered $29,000 on the 2007 328 coupe. What do you think? Last edited by Flinto2002; 03-27-2009 at 07:23 PM.. |

this would be my first BMW so I don't even know what Idrive is....is that their navigation system?
Ok...it's that interfacce with the wheel that controls everything. Sorry, total noob question. I've read that can be pretty annoying, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. |

Car 1 is definitely more me. Car 2 is nice but premium sound over navi? Granted you get the extended warranty which is worth another 2-3k. Car 1 is pretty over-priced though. A new one runs for 38-39 i believe.... so quite a dilemma you have there

In the very least, I would say go to a dealership and play around with the I-Drive. Get the manual off the BMW website and browse through it. Point is, you don't stand a good chance at making a wise decision if you don't understand the variables you're weighing.
Also, it looks like only option 2 has CPO. If you have an idea of how long you'd plan on keeping either car, this option may or may not be indespensable. I think when you understand all the pieces at stake, this is actually a pretty easy choice. Good luck!

I agree. I didn't like the Idrive, but I think I remember reading that Idrive was improved for the 08 model. Personnally I would prefer the upgraded sound and just by a portable navi. Since the OP said he didnt know what Idrive was I think there is much more research and testing to do on his/her part.

Just FYI, idrive, aka navigation, in E92 are CRAP.
ONLY REASON I got my navi is because of the multimedia and phone feature. Navigation TOTALLY blows. It only does point A-B job. Search or POI related functions are the far shittiest of ALL navigations out there including $80 ones. Plus pre 09 idrives are hard to use. I would not pick either cars. I would find a car with sports/premium package first then navigation is an option. That's just me though. |
