Crazy dealer story.

I almost bought a E92 335i today! I would have if it wasn't for the salesmen and sales manager boning me. More of that later. So as I pick up my E90 today from the shop (new brakes and 5 other repairs), and I drive 1 mile when bam my SES light goes on. Sweet. that's just awesome, today is super busy for me; I have about 6 hours of school work tonight. So I pull back up and United is on top of it. We all thought that it was just a sensor that wasn't set up right during the repair, because I got a couple of new sensors, during my extensive warranty work. So they put it next in line for service, 30 minutes later I approach my SA and ask whats up. He goes well your car threw 3 codes, O2 sensors and some other stupid stuff. Great. Do you guys have the parts, because I just drove 2 hours to get here? Yes we do. Awesome. Ok I'll just wait here. Well as I'm waiting I walk the lot and notice a '08 E92 335i Black/ Black. It has the same options that I have. ZSP, ZPP, HS, BT, HiFi, etc, but this one has Steptronic with paddles instead of my 6MT. Well I just had a Space Grey 335i E92 loaner with paddles for 2 weeks and I fell in love with it. My E90 just hit 50,000 miles and I didn't get the extended warranty. I then procede to track down a salesmen and ask to pull the vehicle info. He does and I check out the options, 22,000 miles on the clock and CPO. I ask how much they are asking and he goes 33,000. Awesome I'll make them drop 2,000. So I test drive it and have them appraise my car. We verbally agree to go 18000 on my E90 and 31000 on the 335i. Prefect deal @ 2.9%. So he then goes to his sales manager to do the paper work, and comes back with a price sheet. I look it over, wait wtf 15500 for my car??? Yes that's all that we can give. I say that's bullshit we agreed 18000 and mine is worth way more than that. I then look at the 335i, it is now 32785. WTF MAN!!! What happened to 18 and 31? So I negotiate him to 16500 for mine and 32500 for the 335i. Needless to say I walked. I literally would have bought that thing right then and there if he had stayed on his original offer, instead he tried the foot in the door techinque and blew the sale. Also is $600 dealer fees and $200 supplies normal. I told him that I'm not paying that and he refused to drop the fees.

Cliff Notes:
1. I pick my E90 up from service, SES light goes on I turn around.
2. E90 is going to take about 2 hours to fix.
3. I wait in the lounge then walk the lot.
4. I see a perfect CPO 2008 E92 335i Black/ Black.
5. I test drive it and they appraise my car.
6. We work out a deal for 18 for mine and 31 for theirs at 2.9% financed
7. They then fuck me in the ass with 15500 for mine and 32750 for theirs after our agreement, and throw in $800 in dealer BS fees
8. I try negotiating they are douchebags.
9. I walk pissed, since I just wasted 2 hours of my time. For Sara: I am extremely polite to them though and said thank you sir and genuinely smiled since I kept him there till 7pm.

I was so pissed!!! United BMW knows me by name. My family has bought from them since the beginning. I told the salesmen look I just hit 50,000 and didn't get the extended warranty, I just want to get a CPO with a little less miles, and no options except Sport.

He then proceeds to show me a 335i E92 loaded... fully fully loaded. I told him look ONLY SPORT!!! I can't do Premium anyways because the lumbar in the E92 seats sucks.

So I point out the Black 335i and then we struck the deal after seriously an hour of appraising talking and my test drive. Then it takes another 45 minutes of me trying to recover the sale. No the salesmen didn't try to recover it.

Also check this bullshit out, so I said well can you Black Book my car and give me whatever it says, he goes no we only look at wholesale prices. I go wtf dude this is a trade in for a loyal customer not some Asian lady. You guys know me here! So he agreed to KBB my car and doesn't put any option except when I said sport package, I go hey I have xenons and hifi and cold weather, add the options. So he goes oh that doesn't matter. WTF. I bet if I did a KBB right now it would add at least $1000.

So he then goes on Autotrader and looks up 335i dealer prices and shows me their rivals prices, they are the same typical mark ups, big whoop, but the other ones had premium and nav and shit, at the same price.

Then just when I thought that we agreed again on a price he then on his computer bumps up the trade in to 18000 again prints it then bumps it down again to 16500. FUCK YOU.

Also wtf $800 on dealer fees?????
and not agreeing that they are negotiable. He was a dick end of story. I'm going to call a different salesmen right before the end of the month and see what I can offer. All on the phone so that they don't recognize me.

But hey 2.9% is damn good!

Trust me I am the most charming guy that you can meet, but he was a black dude in his 40s and my charms will not work.

Ughh! I could be in a 335i right now loving life, but no! I have to be back in my E90 and watch as the repair bills stack up, because this thing is falling apart. I estimate my warranty work so far to be at $15000 or more up to 50000 miles. Why that high? Tranny, Clutch, Brakes, TB, sensors, cats, suspension components, wheel hub, new trim, 4 new window motors, god the list is endless.

Bought it non CPO from a Luxury specialist. Lets just say some paper work might have said that I bought it from Global BMW, not saying but saying something.

Get the extended warranty. That way you'd never be out of pocket more than 2k at anytime.

They quoted me $2500 plus taxes and said that I had to pay for it instead of throwing it on my loan...

I said no thanks. I still have 600 miles to decide.

I really wanted to just buy a CPO, but I guess not.

This kind of thing terrifies me. I've got 20K miles on mine now. So far, no issues. But now I feel like something serious may just be lurking around the corner, undoubtedly when I hit 50,001 miles. Don't tell me I have to sell it in 30K miles! Time to worry...

United BMW really blew this deal. Wait a minute...maybe you are not telling the WHOLE story. You wanted them to throw in a toy BMW...come on...tell the truth. lol

I bet you if you go to a different dealer you will get that deal. You were not low balling them and they, at first, agreed on the selling price and the trade in price! I don't blame the salesman, I blame his manger. The salesman wouldn't approach the manager unless he thought it was a done deal. What dick heads.
