M1 at Cars and Coffee Charlotte

I went to my first cars and coffee this morning here in Charlotte. After walking around for a while I noticed a crowd around my M3. I quickly realized that they were not looking at my car but instead checking out a very rare M1 that parked next to me.

Had to post pics since they are so rare. Very cool car.

Dang that is one good looking car! Reminds me a lot of the 8 series a neighbor of mine used to have.

Hendrick Northlake had a red one on the showroom floor a few months ago and they were rebuilding the motor.

Last time I saw the Hendrick one was 15 or 20 years ago in the service dept on Independence. That was also a beautiful car.

I was lucky enough to stumble on this M1 this morning also. Beautiful!!! Your stock Jerez next to it looked good too.
Did you see the black Z8? Great turnout of cars this morning other than the usual monthly attendees- 2 GT3s, 2 Challenger Hellcats, McLaren MP4, i3, Viper GTS anodized carbon, Lambo Gallardo Supertrofeo Stradale, Ford GT.

Nice, thanks. When I parked there I was the only one in the row and walked away to meet up with some friends in the vintage P car group and a buddy building a hot rod truck, pretty lucky to have the M1 park next to me. I saw the Z8, it was pretty cool. The color on that McLaren was awesome.

I was surprised by the varied turn out, a little of everything.

That M1 one was the car of the day in my book.

Completely missed the Hellcats, would have loved to check those out. The new Z06's were pretty cool too, I didn't like them much in pictures but in person they were pretty bad ass.

Was there to see a friend with the s62 swapped e38.
Timing worked out great. I was heading south from nh to fla. We had a pit stop in Charlotte, so we were able to make it.

I hear you. I have another BMW guy in the neighborhood who has been trying to get me to go to these things for years. I feel terrible turning him down every time, but the weekends are my days to sleep late and I treat them like gold.
