Planned to order a 120xd, but...

I planned to get a 120xd as my daily all-year drive. I have a F11 I use for travelling etc, and a Porsche 928 GT and E21 323i I use for fun.

As you can see I love BMWs. But I cant help it, I just cant like the way the F20 looks. Its the overall apperance, its just too messy. The F11 I find perfect!

So I ordered the new Golf VII. Will get it in january, loaded ,with 4wd. I think it will be a nice variation to the other cars :-)

It is a bit like a Porsche 911 idea
All the Golfs just look the same now. Buy a Scirocco R
Take a 125i M Sport for a drive and then decide

Taste is a personal thing...for example I cannot stand the looks of the new Golf...I love the looks of the 1 series. Buy the car you prefer...

The F20/F21 is unique in its class due to the rear wheel drive. If you want an AWD car, it has several competitors.

You are absolutly right.

Im always going to have one BMW, and its going to be RWD. The car number two will be 4wd , efficient. compact, and worth its money. I will use that one for work and city driving, and for my 18 year old son to use. Right now I find the new Golf the best choise for that purpose.

Anyway, I will enjoy my F11 even more after driving a VW :-)

I dont know, Im selling my E46 330ix, its 10 years old and have done its duty. I need a compact 4wd, and I dont think the F20 is my car, mostly because of the looks. The E46 still looks better I think, but taste is personal.

The F20 just cant replace my old 330 . Then I might as well by another good car. But dont worry, I still have 3 BMWs :-)

Choosing between your two pictures, the F20 wins the beauty contest easily according to me. And it would have been even prettier with Xenons.

Personally I've come to love the inividual design, especially in M-sport outfit and with xenon.
Anyway, the everyday qualities of the F20 are so convincing that you soon forget any discussion about looks. Really fun to drive too.
Right now I am driving a Golf VI for some days. Verdict: Practical, uninspiring and boring.
But if everybody was driving around in BMWs, that would be boring too.....
So congrats on your Golf!
