I have never seen an episode of star trek before. I decided to start watching it on netflix (next generation) and I'm hooked! lol graphics are horrible obv but the show is actually really good

The actor that played the Romulan captain in Balance of Terror later played Spock's father. Very good in both roles.

Mark Lenard, who played the Romulan commander. He played 2 other roles. As Spock's father, and as the Klingon captain in "The Motion Picture".

Im a fan of STNG, the original is not so close to me. I own a complete DVD box set of STNG as very first edition.
Favorite episode...no, there are too many good to mention.

There was an episode that I remember, where they went into the past and Kirk couldn't not drive a car. This society had modeled itself around a book they found, and the book was about gangsters in the roaring 20's

My best friend was a huge STNG fan, and they certainly had some great episodes, especially after the 1st 2 seasons. I really liked "Yesterday's Enterprise" and the one where they encounter the Borg.

For me it's a toss-up between The Menagerie (I still think I'm in one of the cells myself) and the sheer campy-ness of The Gorn. My wife hadn't seen most of them but sat with me thru "The Making" and we had a good old laugh when Capt was battling Gorn.
