Congrats neighbour!
And I agree, urban line in white is the best match for the grille, and AW in general is a very distinct colour that stands out. But only if clean!!

Thank you neighbor! ;-) Don't you worry, i actually enjoy washing my cars :-)
I get a lot of positive comments and looks on the white grille.

I think Midnight blue also looks great as Urban Line. Seen couple them here in Sweden.

[Mineral] White on White urban line

Fantastic ride, enjoy the feeling and the drive! Thanks for the pics

Lots of press about awkward BMW 1 series design but it is clear, with the right colour-trim-alloy specs, this is a sporty hatch par excellence. The ride is so much better resolved, there is a better quality interior and transmission, and I am loving the owner reviews here.

I am waiting for my own F20: Mineral White sport line with burnished grey sport alloys but with the urban line white gloss kidney grill. It's going to look the business, will post pics so more of you can consider this simple yet striking mod.

When I was on the dyno with my F20, the engine tuner commented on a couple of things in the engine bay of my 116i. The engine mounts are very soft. You can easily move the engine around quite a bit by hand. He had never seen this in any car before. It is probably a feature to make the car more comfortable.

There is also a quite large counter weight on the turbo, to reduce vibrations.

When it comes to smoothness, I still miss the straight six from my former BMW, though.

Which upholsery did you choose?

I went for the Metro silver/black upholstery, brushed aluminum trim and the anthracite headlining.

I also got the Tomtom iPhone car kit in place now. Here are some new detail pictures of the interior.

Hm.. these pics somehow make me want brushed alu instead of hexagon.. Damn it .

Funny sidenote: Currently hexagon is too pupolar and they can't deliver as fast as they order it. Everybody who placed an order with hexagon gets a date in late september, or later, while changing to something else makes it late august. Also blue trim seems to be affected by the same problem, but not that much.

Still, right now I think I'd prefer the brushed version. Damn it. Anybody wanna switch panels for ~3yrs?

Don´t you worry Thomas, the hex is gonna look totally rad too. It fits the M-Sport perfect!

I already got my car and my hexagons, but seeing more and more footage of the brushed, I somehow like it more . But hey.. in 3 years I might go down a different road.

Is the auto gear lever different on the urban compared to the sport?.. I have a bigger park button? Like the brushed aluminium by the way.

No but you got the sport automatic, which comes with a different lever. I'm pretty sure most automatic-orderers would have gone for the pedals too, if they had the choice. But we didn't .

Now you know.. Unfortunately BMW decided that you can not have the sport auto unless you order a 120d or better. Really stupid. But seeing that the 114x and the 16d ede didn't even get the autobox at all, I'm happy I got that. Also I am curious wether one can swap the lever easily or not. But I'm afraid it might not just be quite some work to get this thing outta there, but it might be also one expensive lever, being basically a joystick.

And i guess you have the nice piece of leather around the bottom of the stick instead of our fugly plastic trim?

Honestly, I don't think its a huge difference wether there is a tiny piece of leather or not. Quite the contrary, I think the plastic-covered one has more of a joystick-look, looks more tech-like, less oldschool. It also looks slimmer. The longer I look at the pics, the less I want the sporty one .

I agree that the shape of the standard stick is nicer then the sport one. But i think the leather would been a nice little touch to break up the large black plastic area around the the stick. This area is the one i like the least on the F20, but hey it's really nitpicking from my side :-)

Yeah I agree that this area needs something else, but I like this joystick-look which is totally lost with the leather. Maybe one can apply some fake-leather with special glue onto the black plastic part within the silver bezel? Probably a pita to do, but might look nice. Or apply glossy black (or blue/red) to go with the trim finishers.
