Another 125i M Sport Black coming soon :)

Today my dealer nicely confirmed I will be the owner of a nice Sapphire Black 125i M Sport around mid July...
I could not resist to tick almost every box of the option list. The most important are:
18" 386M wheels
Adaptive M running gear
M Brakes
Black Dakota leather
Horizontal Alu trim (the hexagon looks a bit cheap from my point of view)
Professional Navi + DAB + HK system
PDC
...
Will watch the pics of other's car until that time...

Nevertheless, still one question in my mind. With so much black I get worried about high temperatures in summer and considering to add sun protection glass (if possible to add before Wk of production).
I am hesitating because the front side windows do not get tint with this option and it does not look very homogenous.
Any advice from anyone about fit by BMW or in aftermarket?
Is there any difference between the one from BMW and the one in aftermarket?

Congrats and welcome to the forum
I nearly full specked my F20, but the inconsistent side view is the reason why I did not opt for the sun protection glass!

Thanks for the welcome words...
... and the option list is very long!
Forgot to mention that I also ticked the box for the Xenon pack...

Thanks.
With the adaptive one, you can set the damping as you wish at any time.
For example, you can set in comfort mode for long travel or sport mode when you want to have fun on small road or on track...
Honnestly speaking, I am not sure yet I have made a smart choice on that.
I drove a 125i M sport with std M suspension and 19" M performance wheels and found that comfort level was not that bad.

Ohk, So its the suspension.
i thought running gear was something in the gear box, like sequential gear or faster gear changes option.

Yep, they kind of use a strange wording...

You get this on every F20, depending on which mode you choose on the iDrive.
By opting for Adaptive suspension you can in addition make different setups for the chassis.

I'd say you can save the money for the Adaptive chassis as long as you have the M-package, because M-chassis is surprisingly comfortable.

To avoid that inconsistent look there is two options really; do aftermarket-tint on the rear windows in really light tint (smoked) so the contrast between front and rear side windows won't be that harsh. Still get some benefit of keeping uv-rays/heat out, maybe not as much as a darker tint but still...

Or you could go gangster-style with tint all the way round including front side windows, depending on where you live it might be illegal though

At least here in Norway it is impossible to get such things approved

welcome to the 'waiting' game :-) ... mine is due early July, but i'm told because of demand there's up to 4 weeks delay on the original 7-8 weeks they say. :-(

re the front side windows. In the UK there's a limit as to how dark they can be...i think its quite low, like 10%. You can install darkened glass, but if the police stop you then its points (and possibly a fine-unlikely) on your licence.

I believe there is such a regulation in many countries. It look more and more like I will not take the option and consider homogenous legal aftermarket fit after this summer trial...

A 1er coupé is not too bad neither especially with 6 cylinders

Not sure about this, but I thought a friend living in LA mentioned that a BMW dealer (I think it was in Newport beach CA) was considering the M135i as a limited order as they were a M dealer.

I wanted to take nice pictures today and share with you guys.
Nevertheless after one week of owning and not even 1000km yet, a guy crashed into my car from the rear while I was slowing down to avoid a dog that escaped from a property on a countryside road.
Rear body damaged, rear left suspension deformed.
I am completely disgusted.
The worst is that this guy after sliding on my rear left continued on the left lane and took the dog on its way.
Horrible...

Thanks for your words.
Hoped it was just a nightmare when waking up this morning, but is was not.
Have to take the train tonight to return home. Assistance will decide whether to repair here or repatriate the car to the country where I leave.
They can repatriate only if the repair takes more than 4 days. Hope they will understand quickly that rear body (bumper, fender) + suspension + wheel + tire + wheel arc will take more than 4 days. Hope the underbody is not impacted...
