Awesome awesome job on the video!! The quality, the content and the editing. Definitely the best route to go through for an ED, makes me so nostalgic seeing all those routes again

Thanks amazing! Thanks for sharing.

I see you didn't really have any issues driving through fog or have bugs get stuck on your lens?

Very nice! Beautiful scenery, but I'd be too scared to take my eyes off the road to look at it.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Thank you for doing this. I've already told the wife (car sick prone) that on our next ED she stays somewhere for a day while I drive some passes. Had to miss all the fun with her in the car when we did ED in 2008.

Greatest video I've ever seen on e90post. This should be the first thing on the front page for a week.

Glad the 2nd video was helpful.. my wife was filming the instructional video and we were like an hour away from car wash & drop off so I had to rush through.

the day we drove through Swiss it started pouring. My suggestion would be to stay 2 nights at every spot so you always have a back up day to drive on dry roads. But it was still just amazing to drive.

Yeah man, that was the only sad part I had to concentrate on the road while my wife was constantly gasping at the view. I enjoyed the some of the Stelvio Pass views only while editing the video.

Actually I stopped every 10 to 15mins of driving to check the following

- Buggy Filter - 50% of the time there would be a bug or two
- Check if the suction cups are holding well (this test never failed) the suction cup never needed adjustments
- fog, water from sprinklers yeah sprinklers.. and it was drizzling from time to time
- constantly wiped the filter clean every time i stopped

I started in on mine and quickly said F-that, paid a shop 300. And called it a day...my time and frustration are well worth the 300....

Absolutely -

Here is my itinerary:

Day 1
Welt factory tour |Delivery at 4:30 PM |Drive to Zell am See
http://bit.ly/Welt-ZellAmSee - 112 Miles / 2.2 Hrs

Day 2 - This is when I started shooting
Dive from Zell am See --> Lesach --> Großglockner --> Lienz --> Cortina d'Ampezzo --> Venezia
http://bit.ly/ZellAmSee-Venice - 218 Miles / 6 Hrs

Day 2 & 3
Venice tour - All day - TRY TO AVOID VENICE - It's really a pain to leave your car parked for 2 days after making such a long trip...

Day 4
Drive Stelvio
http://bit.ly/Venice-Stelvio - 228 Miles / 4.5 Hrs

Day 5
Drive from Stelvio - Fussen
http://bit.ly/Stelvio-Fussen - 111 Miles / 3 Hrs

Day 6
Drop off Car @ Log IN OUT
http://bit.ly/Fussen-LogInOut - 91 Miles / 2.5 Hrs

Although I have the ViaMichellin routes here, we just followed the Nav. Only thing to be aware is to make sure the Nav is taking you through the passes. Most of the passes have another straight road that is dug through the tunnel and your NAV takes you through that tunnel instead of the passes so pay attention. Applies to san bernardino san gottardo pass specifically.

Not sure if this is the best setting but here you go..

1. Shutter Priority and locked the shutter speed and 1/30th
2. Aperture was jumping between 8 to 16 based on the light
3. used a ND filter to block some light so I am not maxing the f-stop while locked at 1/30th of sec
4. 24fps
5. At 24fps you want to stay between 1/30 to 1/50 shutter speed so fast moving video looks smooth unless you like the jittery effect.
6. I didn't use the default picture style - I used the flat pitcure style so in camera processing doesn't happen. But ended up underexposing several scene. http://crookedpathfilms.com/blog/2011/02/27/459/. So when using a flat picture style and increase the gamma in post production make sure you over expose the scene. Test test test before you do actual shoot...
