Sport Model and DCS is switchable!

Hi All,

Well, after being really annoyed at not being able to switch out the DCS in any other mode other than Comfort I have found what I think is a way around it.

My car is a MY2013 so I can't speak for all the different years and software on other F20/21's so please bear this in mind. I also have the M-Sport adaptive suspension on my car which although is a great idea I don't think I would choose it again.

Anyway, try the following and post back if this works.

Put your car into Sport or Sport +, then hold down the DCS button until the DCS OFF is displayed (if you have the black panel display, not sure what comes up without this display).
And there you go, sport steering, sports suspension and sport throttle map and no DCS to get on the way of the fun. Just don't go crazy round the roundabouts

Cheers

D

How do you know that you have the sport engine mapping after switching DSC off?

Are you sure?

I've tried that and the throttle response reverts back to comfort :S

Yeah we tested it before too. Steering seems to be in Sport, everything else is Comfort. If you would go up a steep hill (~12%) and hold the DSC button long enough when you were originally in SPORT+ you will find the throttle mapping change.

BMW says it's a safety concern that they do not do DSC off and SPORT/+, and there seems to have no way to get around it.

However, if you manage to get DSC OFF with SPORT/+, I think many are still interested
