Hey AusF20, glad your loving your ride man.

I have very similar thought about this car even though I only made 700km. Cant wait to push it over its running in limits, which I try to obey.

HK is growing on me everyday, quality is brilliant from the day one, and the bass is waking up slowly - nice!

I cant stop thinking about getting M performance exhausts, even-though I never heard one. But it feels like there's something missing, I can hear a potential once i start the car when its cold, but it takes only few seconds - I want that first ROOOAR to stay that way

PS
Do you have any news on M performance power box?

No not yet,
I here that the full AMG A Klass is being released mid year so I assume that BMW performance will release a M Chip around that time.

other news
I have fitted the 'net' pocket for holding things in the car and have taken a few more pics. I am still trying to get the long bonnet shot.

Hey dude, thanks for your thoughts about the M chip

the net looks very handy, did u get it from the dealer or from the internet?

I'm getting jealous by lookin at the background - i have two friends which use to live in Australia, both of them told me its a great place to be

The Net is a genuine part from my BMW dealer.
It was expensive, but is very handy for holding IPad, bottle of wine or whatever else will fit
Here, it sell for around $70.00.
It has a smaller pocket inside and is held in place by a hook on each corner, so it is easy to remove for cleaning.

As for where the F20 is parked, I have to admit that Brisbane is a great place to live, however, today, I am glad that my house also has a nice in-ground pool, it was over 38 degree C (101 F) here today.

Very nice looking F20 there~!

i do like the look of the performance side skirts... been wondering myself whether they're just a sticker on top of the exisiting M-Sports side skirts or a completely different side skirt all together.

It's a an m sport car with plenty of additional m performance factory options fitted. I believe the car in Australia also came with this fitted. I see no problem with this tbo.

Yes, F20MAW73 you are correct, I am OK with that

The purist would say, What was BMW M division thinking when they allowed M to be associated with a diesel

I am OK with M diesels
And yes BGM, I do like the look of the 325 / 335 and M3

Great looking car - I have optioned one very similar to you coming in a few months.

Just a question, I was unable to drive an M-Sport 125i prior to purchasing (truth be told I ordered am A250 Sport, but swapped over to the 1 series) and was wondering what the M Sport suspension felt like. My final toss up is Adaptive or Passive. I have not added the Adaptive suspension, but you state you had driven both and didn't notice much difference. Looking back at it now, would you change your order?

I have driven both, and ordered (and now have) the Adaptive suspension. IMHO, it gives you the best of both worlds. Comfort is much more compliant than M Sport suspension, which means it's great for cruising, or lumbering around bumpy back streets. Sport firms everything up for when you need to press on. It is one of the best options on my car.

In which mode do you drive in most?
Comfort or Sport?

I'm in the same boat (that might be literally true!) with an F20 125i also arriving in a few months. But I decided to forgo the trim upgrades in favour of more toys -- adaptive suspension, electric seats, top-spec sound, and top-spec nav.

I chose the 125i because I love driving, I love small cars, and I don't care much what it looks like on the outside. One of the big attractions of the 1 series is that it's a fairly unassuming car on the road -- unless you're into cars you'd hardly pick it from a Hyundai i30. But on the inside it's pure quality, and it has enough power for surely anything you could possibly ask of it on Australia's public roads.

I had included the Rear view camera but didn't realise it was on the back bumper bar - It looks a little like an aftermarket Supercheap Auto thing (the people in Australia will understand) so have called dealer today and will change to adaptive suspension.

I was considering this for a while and I think in the long run will get much better use out of this than the camera.

A good choice. (Be aware though that adaptive suspension is exactly $1000 more expensive than the rear camera.)

I kitted my car up pretty far -- on top of what I previously mentioned: sports auto, front and rear sensors, rear camera, high beam assist, advanced bluetooth, digital radio, lumbar, adaptive xenons, lights package... I figure I'll probably appreciate most of them, and I won't know which don't matter until I spend time with them... but by then it's too late. It's an evil game BMW plays with you.

A few weeks after ordering, I have no major regrets with the decisions I've made. Perhaps the 40:20:40 through-loading seats might have been handy, and the comfort access might have given the car a bit more satisfaction of ownership. But I'm so happy with what I know I've gotten right that I don't care.

We have non adaptive M-suspension on our 116i. We have some rather bumpy roads in Norway, and I think the comfort level is rather high. The setting is softer than previous generation of cars from BMW. If there was a switch in the car to set it even softer for everyday cruising, I wouldn't use it.

For advanced driving like autoX and track use, the car immediately feels a bit too soft. Once you start pushing it, it does not really have too much body roll. It actually works better than expected. If there was a stiffer setting, I would probably use it, but I don't really miss it. With the stock compliance, the car handles mid corner bumps better than anything else I have ever driven.

Did you go for the M Sport package? With this is works out to be about a $400 difference.

I ended up getting
M Sport
Estoril Blue
Auto
Extended bluetooth
Sunroof
Nav Prof
Xenon
Adaptive Suspension
HK
Auto seats
Digital radio
Tints
and 4 year servicing thrown in as well.

So much like you waiting, waiting, waiting....

Comfort, but I'm only 1,000 k into the journey. It's very nice. Previously, I owned a Audi 8P S3. Its suspension was just a little softer than Sport, but not much. I'm looking forward to using Sport more once I've run the car in, and start on some spirited drives and track days.

I'm using the comfort mode in town or when I have a mood to drive relaxed.
On country roads, I prefer sport mode in case I need to pass a the car in front of me . And when I'm on high speed roads (110 km/h or 130 km/h allowed), I'm still on sport but I'm on manual mode (to be able to use gear 7 and 8 and limit fuel consumption).
