Hi all,

Is the software update done in the iDrive/Settings section the same as manual flashing on http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/nav...update_vin.jsp ?

i.e if my idrive says i have the latest, no update necessary, the link above is not needed?

My dealer requested I have my 125i brought in for a free check up and upgrade to the latest software etc.

Took it there last week and had it done, but could not find or see any real difference in the operation of the car when I collected it.

They also check the seats for the rust again and gave them a clean bill of health.
