Hmmm... so many great songs but here is my top 5 in no particular order.

And what is the definition of rock?

Red Barchetta by Rush
Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen
Fire Woman by The Cult
Debaser by the Pixies
Killing in the name by Rage Against the Machine

My favorite by rage is "renegades of funk". They have lots of great music. I don't always like their politics though.

I despise country music more than getting needles in my eyes. But, Southern Rock? That was awesome. Marshall Tucker Band, Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet. I mean, how can you go wrong with 3 lead guitarists??!

I can’t believe that the greatest rock song has not been mentioned:

Dream On - Aerosmith

Ps. I could also see an argument for Stairway to Heaven but it’s more than just a song!!

Al lot of great songs already mentioned.

<----avatar
Iron Maiden-The Trooper

I'd say:
Boston-More than a Feeling
The Who-Baba o Reilly
Led Zeppelin-When the Levee breaks
Black Sabbath- Paranoid
Cream-Crossroads(Original)
Kinks-Lola

etc

Newer stuff:
Creed- My Sacrifice
Live- I Alone

Wuthering Heights-Kate Bush, guitar solo at the end is awesome!

Great video!

Cheers

I hate to admit it, but their best song is "Back in Black". I know...we've all heard it 100,000,000 times. But it is truly an iconic rock song. I really prefer the older Bon Scott stuff, but their 1st 2 records with Brian Johnson were also really good.

These lists are very much contributor's age dependent. A list of "greatest rock song" with no mention of the Beatles or Rolling Stones isn't much of a list. Rock very much existed in the 60's, boys and girls.

Depends on my mood.
Radar Love
Gimmie two Steps
Honky Tonk Woman
Lazy
Don't fear the Reaper
Red House
The Greeks don't want no freaks
The list can go on and on and on.......

My taste is all over the place, so depending on my mood my favourite rock song could be different several times a day.....Peace out!

I was just our for a spirited ride in my sports car and 2 songs by Heart played randomly in a row, my ride got a lot more "spirited".

I'm going to give the rock chicks some love, but I'm torn picking just one, so I'm picking 2

I know I'll be judged for this, but I prefer Faith No More's cover better.

So many good tunes from Black Sabbath to choose from. N.I.B. was always one of my favorites.
