Having attended NFL games at Wembley, I can say that the Brits are enormously educated about the sport. At both games that I attended, I heard MANY people saying things like "Oh, he's that chap that was a first round draft pick out of Auburn, and was benched for a couple year before moving to...".

They knew the injury reports, were excited to talk about who might take it all.. debated AFC vs NFC, etc. They were some of the most knowledgable fans I've ever sat with. I fully expect an expansion team over there, and it will be very well attended, and probably be very competitive.

Btw, those complaining about 9:30am games, try living on in PST (or further, for our HI members and NFL fans). When I moved out here from Boston, I was blown away to find that sports bars are a thing on Sunday mornings for breakfast.

I recall, never once once watching Man U - Arsenal - Chelsea - Liverpool combo live on TV between 2005 and 2010.
They are just trying to get as close to US times as possible without the game needing to be super late in London which would be an issue with the local residents and it brings crowds to residential areas.

I was just at Twickenham over the weekend and now see why this was scheduled the way it was. An earlier game would have killed TV viewing and later times would have been bad for town and taking down equipment etc and hauling back to Wembley or NFL storage would have been an issue.

Very educated. 71,021 in attendance, many of which were local. I'm amazed at how many people showed up. When I looked up in the stands and hearing the crowds cheering I was in awe. When locals saw I was in NFL gear or anyone asked why I was in town, there were always curiousity and questions about American football. Even British immigration at Heathrow was asking me about football and had mentioned the Giants had just cleared customs before I had.

The European fanbase is a lot bigger than i think some people realize. Ive got family in Germany (all native Germans on my wife's side) and the majority of them all have a favorite NFL team and watch games on Sundays just like us.

As for the Primetime Games, I'm all for getting rid of Thursday Night. It always ruins my fantasy teams. A couple Thursday Night Games like they used to do, 1st game, turkey day, etc. is fine, but not every week.

And you cant get rid of Sunday/Monday night games, but maybe flex the Sunday night games all season instead of the last few weeks. As for the poor primetime performances, I dont think anyone expected some of these teams to be doing so badly at this point in the season.

No more so than using the term "muppet" after seeing Kermit & Miss Piggy. Muppet is slang for idiot over there.
