APEX: The Story of the Hypercar

I know it's not BMW specific but it is a very cool documentary (title above) on Netflix about hypercars (Koenigsegg mainly but with side stories from McLaren, Pagani, Ferrari, etc). Delete/move if not appropriate here just figured most people on here would enjoy. It's definitely worth a watch for any car guy (or gal)!

It was fun to watch, it doesn't really offer up a whole lot of new information for car guys, but for the average person I'm sure it does.

I loved this doc. I went through most of it video saying to myself "why aren't they talking about Pagani?" Then they get to his segment and the transition is hilarious. Everyone is like "then there's Pagani..."

Really cool doc.

Koenigsegg seems like a really cool and down to earth guy.

It's a well done doc, if disjointed in places likely because of a lack of access.

For instance, the Pagani sequence is just horrific because it basically says and shows nothing. It's plain that Horatio Pagani considers himself the Coco Chanel of luxury cars ... Even the access to Koenigsegg is limited, with recycled, nonspecific footage everywhere, as well as certain characters and 'players' in the operation being totally undeveloped (For example: what's the deal with his wife as essentially a CFO?). Even the cinematography is haphazard -- stunning and semi-innovative in one sequence, and absolutely banal and borderline B-roll the next.

Such is the nature of many docs, to be sure. But with competition, image, and exclusivity playing such a huge role in the hypercar business, a film like this could only end up being just good - not great. Journalistic and biographic pieces about other ultraluxury entities almost always suffer the same fate.

Yes, very awesome documentary. I watched it twice last weekend and highly recommend it. Netflix has it streaming in 4K.
